Let me try answering your question, bro Janmarco.
Naay batasan ang zebs in feather plucking. Maybe the cage is too small for them, or they are forcibly paired, or they lack protein to their bodies (feather is a rich in protein). Usually, I always give fresh seeds everyday, set up your cage at least 3 perches, mas daghan d better. Observe them in their next nestlings, if mao lang gihapon, try to find another partner kay seems dili sila compatible or sometimes they are still young pa. Recommended age is at least 8 months up.

Most inexperienced pair don’t know how to feed their chicks. But they will learn that in their next clutches. Put fresh eggfood and always replenish it daily. These will encourage them to eat and feed their chicks.

Most inexperienced pair tosses their chicks out from their nest when they feel their chick is weak or sick. Lizard or small mice eats dead chicks that is why wala nimo makita kung asa na ang missing chicks.

I'm still hoping my two zebra pairs will feed their chicks na coz' at the moment the other pair I think have hatched it's eggs already and the other pair have 3 eggs and started nesting. I'll not be checking them more often coz' I think also that's one reason why they discontinue in feeding their chicks. Thanks Sir!

Here are some pics of my Normal Zebra Finches.

Black Cheek (m) x Normal Grey (h) / 4 chicks did not survived. Now nesting with 3 eggs and more I hope, hehehe.


Pied or Saddle Back (h) x Normal Zebra (m) / 3 chicks did not survived. Now have 4 eggs already, and I think it's already hatched.


Fawn Pair / Until now wala pa gyud mag egg. They don't like their nextbox and nestbasket either.


Successful normal zebra pair with their chicks. Am happy to have my 1st clutch of zebra finches...





My Zebra Finch wooden cages. Are they too small? I only have one perch for each cage.


These where once parakeet cages. Ako lang gi modify.....
