Good News!
It is exactly 1:00 A.M. of August 2 as I begin to write this post. For your information, I just emerge from a lengthy dinner meeting with film director Nick Deocampo of Mowelfund Film Institute and film investor Mr. Richard Uysiuseng.
Director Deocampo wants to see all of you at Satoy's place today at 2:30 P.M. His agenda --- which was also one of our discussions this evening --- will be to convince all of us to host the Cebuano Film Festival this coming February 2004 under the auspices of the Mowelfund and for Sine Sugbo Inc. to be the regional arm for the Visayan film industry by, first among many other things, to set up an alternative art film house in Cebu to be financed by Uysiuseng and to produce a series of Cebuano/Visayan films. Uysiuseng himself will discuss this with us next Saturday. But today, August 2, at 2.30 P.M. it will be Mr. Deocampo with us until 5:30 P.M.
Please come on time. I will pick-up Mr. Deocampo from his hotel and drive him to Satoy's place.
P.S. Mr. Uysiuseng plans to produce a Cebuano/Visayan film soon whose stars include Maui Taylor. He asks me to direct this.

Why can't it happen?
If we were able to attract the interest of film director Nick Deocampo --- thousand times better than this Maui Taylor for his being juror in countless film festivals including the world wonder Cannes --- why can't we get this Maui Taylor who is in the business, with what the super rich businessman can possibly offer?
Please keep interested on what we are doing. It might yet awe you.

When the gentleman above posted "dis can't truly be happening", he implied we are lying or at least we are just hyping. No, Sir, and if we must tell you, the film investor we referred to brought Mandy Moore to the country for a brief pictorial to endorse a product. The cost of that enterprise, I was told, is staggering and small fraction of that would definitely send Maui Taylor packing her bag to Cebu until the end of time.
