For those nga nag start pa without any lenses at all, buying a Nikon dslr without the motor in the body is ok if all lenses are AF-S or AF-I.
AF lenses can still be used in manual focus mode only and when situations that auto focusing is not necessary at all.example: taking macro photographs, still life, low contrast situations that auto focus will hunt, etc...
The auto focus feature can really help when you're in a hurry, shooting events, sports, fast moving situations and cannot manually focus a lens on your own.![]()
I started from scratch and decided to get the D5000 in favor of getting additional AF-S lenses than the in-camera motor.
tigum ko kwarta para makapalit ko D5000.... wish lang ko

Master Yoda's Quote “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
Four months after venturing into the darkside again my mood is a little dark...I'm getting occasional Err messages popping up. Sometimes it's card related (Err CHA), sometimes it's just Err. I just pop the battery when it happens and it reverts to normal. Searching on the web some say it's related to the lens contacts or aperture mechanism, but on a brand new out of the box camera? It would be understandable if I've had this for a year or so with a few thousand actuations, but four months with less than 1k actuations?
Right now it's more of an irritation, but I just feel this is unacceptable even for a non-pro camera like the D90. Is there a Nikon service center here? Even an indy will do, as long as he knows what he's doing. I don't want to entrust my gear to just anybody. Thanks guys.![]()
