When it will be fully secured. We had a street lighting contract for the entire downtown area. After our workers installed and made the lights turn on the thieves were just a few meters behind stealing the wires. Just like our project in Intramuros as the Last Walk of Rizal as well as the Bay Walk in Roxas, Boulevard.

Mao sad ma wad-an ug gana ang mga LGU kay ang mga wire na lang ug suga ilang kanunay bantayan? & solid wires and lighting assemblies does not come cheap.

OK, I see. Good point. But does that mean that the Talisay end is more secure? Sure, not all the lights are always on there too, but MOST of the Talisay side is lit. It's been that way for many months. And it's OPEN at night.

you have to consider that the SRP is still not in operation hence not generating INCOME to cover maintenance cost, electrification.etc...i agree with TOMAS that it should not be opened for public use basing from these reasons.

I don't know the real reason but here is my assessment

1] The Cebu side is bigger
2] The Cebu side has more thieves from aduana, ermita, pasil, tabada, basak etc. The talisay side has lesser sqautters.
3] The talisay side is easier to secure because they have fewer exits

leasing the SRP was a good decision..selling the lots from NRP and eventually being left idle by the owners was indeed a waste..that's what they call learning from their past experiences..Good for Mayor Tommy O., nice move sir!

Hmmm... That's kind of a chicken-and-egg situation, isn't it? The SRP doesn't have income to cover costs, true. But it WON'T have any income unless they open it! That seems to show that there was poor planning, at least on the Cebu side.

do you want it to end up having to collect toll fees in order to cover maintenance cost?....the city is paying millions a month for the loan, it is just right that the local government will exercise its authority to close SRP for it's still not generating income.

So then how will it EVER generate income? If we follow that logic, it should never open.

common logic dictates that as soon as the investments will start to pour in, SRP will be able to generate income, initially from the lease contracts and taxes..but as of the moment, the city government is still on its marketing phase, and about to finish some phases of the project..thus it is justifiable to close the SRP to the public.
