ive been to an IMAX theater some years ago and the feeling is very much unlike an ordinary movie experience. kung 400 ang sa SM, i think it is worth it kay mahal baya kaayo ang setup ana labi na kung articulated seats pa gyud...wow, hiyak hiyak jud ang tiyan hehe

medyo na disappoint ko gamay ani kay base sa ako na read nga mas gamay kuno ni compare sa SM MOA which is 22 meters screen wide while this one in cebu kay 14 meters ra.

Sadly in the Philippines, we use the IMAX Digital Theatre System, or shall we say the fake IMAX.

The newer IMAX Digital screens are much smaller in size and lower in resolution than the traditional 70mm IMAX screens.

Ang sa Cebu kay mini retrofitted digital screens lang. So we are not experiencing the real IMAX Experience.

Katong nakakita na ug true IMAX giant screen theater sa abroad will be disappointed upon seeing our local IMAX. Ang real IMAX screens are 76 by 97 feet and the fake screens are 28 by 58 feet.

Me too! PHP400-500 is too much, basing on the regular wages of Cebuanos here. Ok ra kung call center agents ky dagko ug sweldo, but even then, it's no longer practical if you can watch the same movie under regular dolby-digital cinemas.

Hu-WOW! Thanks for posting this. Now I'm much more convinced not to watch IMAX here. We're not getting our money's worth if we're paying for true IMAX films and we're getting fakes. Kung mao ni, mg-DVD nlng ko, hahaha...

according sa wiki, it's 14 meters HIGH, not 14 meters wide. sa nakatan-aw na sa SM Cebu imax, can anyone confirm? hehe

kung 14 meters high or 6 stories high, then that means kanang comparison ni chken sa "fake" imax screen size does not hold true.

14 meters means almost 46 feet high. that's significantly larger sa "fake" imax nga gipost ni chken but it's also significantly smaller sa "classic" jumbo imax screen size hehe.

mas nindot paman tanaw og HDTV ani oi... ma replay ma pause ma rewind.. sa imax wala mana hahahaha!!!

palit nalang ko blueray na disc ani nya pasalida sa amoa... for life pa nako ma balik... imagine pila ka 500 to pag replay2x.

mahala 500 oi!! nya kaisa ra sa so called IMAX sa SM. hehehe.
