yah u hav a point also... just my 2 cents also and no offense intended..

    just to discuss further:

when we say Philippines(Disaster), we know that there is Luzon(tsunami),Visayas(earthquake) and Mindanao(tornado). Hence, by saying Luzon(tsunami) we know that it is in Philippines (Disaster).

In short, when we say Philippines, it has its regions,provinces,cities,barangays..etc.. it completes the whole idea.

It will be easy to compress those written accounts in a fashionable and tiny manner. Besides, war is sometimes the main reason why we don't see all of them now.... just my 2 cents worth.
As far as salvation is concerned, the bible that we have today is complete. There are books nga wala na naapil og compile (say letters to corinthians, there are three of them instead of just 2), but we can never tell its incomplete kay nasulti naman tanan ang requisites and laws.

What makes the bible advanced is that all the major catastrophes, the decline in morality, the emergence of pestilences, and emergence of false prophets and false religions....even scientific discoveries that we viewed as just recent milestones were stated, although not word for word, but in essence which is maoy importante if you are a believer.

Ang verse nga gi-post ni rcruman isip tubag unsa'y verse nga nag-predict sa Asian tsunami nag-ingon nga "kun unsay nahitabo sa karon, sa nangagi...muabot gihapon sa umaabot". Tsunami is flood, and bisag kinsa diri nakahibaw that there once was a great flood.

Hi victor3, I agree on you that by salvation and goodness the book is complete (aside from those uncompiled books) but Laws in Bible has flaws too... I'm not a Bible "wild reader" :P but I read for my own and I benefited from it but when we say complete we have to make sure that when we interpret the Bible in its purpose not for the sakes of what it is/are happening now because the Bible comes from God and He spoke good things not "destructions/catastrophe/discoveries" that we see now. Or shall we say interpret the Bible that has moral values or serve as a moral value for people like us not a some kind of "almanac".

I am firm believer of God and his works but I don't compare His good things (as written in the Bible) to any books. Sure we learn from them but we should never correspond that as equal to scientific discoveries because these are "man/woman" observations - sure we can also benefit from it. We have to interpret the Bible the proper ways not literal ways. I hope I made my point clear. If not, I'll kiss you na lang. okay?

hi tripwire, not clear gihapon so kiss nalang hehe...anyway that kiss, for me, could mean spiritual ha...unless you insist otherwise. Same ra pod sa biblia. Naay butang literal ug espiritohanon depende sa konteksto sa given passage.

The bible could be an almanac too....with chronological events arranged by millennial instead of annual, highlighting salient events rather than outlining it word for word. Example sa panghitabo nga na-mention sa biblia ug istorikal nga basahon mao ang paghari ni Caesar ug ang Seige of Jerusalem (AD 70). This catastrophe was predicted even sa old testament pa.

Ang Asian Tsunami, Hiroshima Bombing ug World War II, although major events na sa 20th century pero ang magnitude niya susama lang pod sa nahitabong katalagman sa nangaging panahon, butang nga maka-termino lamang ang bibliya kanila as a general term "catastrophe" or "flood" or "war" encompassing tanang tragic events in the entire historical epoch.

Gitag-an sa bibliya, for example, ang umaabot nga katalagman....ug natinuod kana sa nahitabong Asian Tsunami ug uban pa.

Para mas objective ang conclusion nganong mas advance ang Bible. Dapat naa pud untay list of other ancient books para ma-compare sa Bible.
