Have you noticed that Apostle Paul used "Our/We" and "they"?
Because Paul is an APostle and Minister of CHurch of God.
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
    2 COrinthians 1:1
    and
1 Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:
    1 Corinthians 1:1-2.

and APostle Paul is an Apostle of the members of the Church/Christians.
1 Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
2 If I be not an apostle unto others, yet doubtless I am to you: for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.
    1 Corinthians 9:1-2.

To be more accurate, when Paul said "OUR" he included himself not just the church in Rome. Paul is a member of the Church as well as the saints in Rome.

The word 'church' in the Bible could mean a) an assembly or congregation of people

Ac 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

"Church" here does not refer to the Church in the New Testament sense as the body of Christ. Stephen here was recounting the experience of the congregation of Israel during Moses' time. You can never find in the Old Testament a group of people called the body of Christ like in the New Testament sense. Here the people, the children of Israel were baptized into Moses [1 Cor.10:1-2]

or it ['church'] could mean b) the msytical body of Christ formed and founded by Christ Himself. This is what He was referring to when He said: "I will build My Church"

The Church in the New Testament time is a group of people [Jew and Gentile on equal footing] baptized into one body--the body of Christ. Here all are baptized into Christ [Gal. 3:27]

dili nalang nato i complicate nga ang Church moy pillar and foundation of the truth. Ang Ginoo may kahay tag-iya diba. Niya ang owner has spoken sa Bible. So the Bible is the basis of faith sa Church. The Bible which is the Word of the owner of the Church.
ang ako man gud pasabot ani bro nga, the "bible alone" is not the basis of truth.. it should not be taken literally..

Really? so what kind of Church is Church in the wilderness?
Is that a different Church aside from the Church of God?
Are you sure that the Church in the wilderness is not related to the Church of God in New Testament? Can you supply a verse that the CHurch in the wilderness is different from the Church of God which the apostle ministered?

Bro, what verse in new testament that saying "the church is the body of Christ"?

Really? There was a Church already the tabernacle of David that was fallen and that is what Christ said in Matthew 16:18 "I will build".
as prophecies by Amos and written in Acts 15:16-17.

16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up:
    Amos 9:11
17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
    Amos 9:12

    Peace!

The bible is written for the CHurch who will serve God.

16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.
    Malachi 3:16.

and because of the Church the bible is given or written.

18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
    Psalms 102:18.

    Peace!
