when i saw the lord of the rings : the two towers...we saw that gandalf was alive and well....and i remember saying to myself nga sa the lord of the rings : the return of the king a good fight will erupt between saruman and gandalf...but sad to say wla man diay kay na trap naman diay si saruman sa iyang tower. if lahi ang nahitabo wla ma trap si saruman sa iya tower who do u think would win?

Gandalf maybe grey for a long time pero he had lots or travels and adventures around Middle Earth...and on those travels he gained expereinces....

saruman and gandalf have equal powers...............only saruman's power was drained or have left him when he used it all to evil.

Here is some explaination on Gandalf and Saruman; both are Maia; servants of the Valars ( gods ). After the War of Wrath which ended the first age the Valars pondered on how to protect and monitor the people in middle earth. So as a solution the two greatest of the Valars agreed to send Maia’s to do the work. So Aule ( the god that created the earth and everything in it ) sent for Curunir ( saruman ) and Manwe ( most powerful of the gods ) sent for Olorin ( gandalf) to aid Men and Elves and Yavanna ( wife of Aule, creator of the Ents, trees and animals ) sent for Radagast to take care of all that walks. There are two more, the Blue Wizards but of their destination I do not know. All they say is they went over the blue mountains and dwelt there.


……and as for power is concern; all 5 of them are of equal status. To each it’s own responsibility………..

so u mean to say its a draw?....so why did gandalf lost his staff to saruman in fellowship of the ring if they are of equal power?

.........this is what REALLY took place with the meeting of gandalf and saruman in The Fellowship....: Saruman tried to persuade Gandalf that they should join forces in finding the One Ring, get it before Sauron can find it. Saruman wanted to be a New Power, to be a rival of Sauron. But Gandalf being of pure heart denied Saruman's offer. So in anger, Saruman sent Gandalf to the pinnacle of Orthanc.........that's it.


...............there's was no fight between them................

...........i place there IN THE BEGINNING, i meant before the creation of time and ea. The first age being the Elder Days, the istaris were still in Valinor, no one really knew exactly when they arrived in middle earth. They were sent by the Valars to help Men and Elves in the plight against evil and in that time ( 2nd age to 3rd age, Sauron was The Enemy ) Saruman got the upper hand so to speak from the 2nd age up to the 1st part of the 3rd age since he was appointed as leader of the white council. He was chosen ( or chose to be ) to be head of the white council because of him settling in Orthanc. But then Saruman delved into ring lore and his nature being a maia of Aule ( aule was a maker, sauron is also a maia of Aule ), Saruman also wanted to make rings of power, there he learned about Saurons rings and the One. So, Saruman got arrogant, "why should we let men and elves rule middle earth when we ( maia's ) are supreme among them" that is what he thought, and he saw Sauron as a rival to his ambition so he devised a plan to join forces with the other istaris to bring down Sauron but it is his undoing, he wasted all of his power in doing evil and so it left him...........and when Gandalf died ( kuno ) when he fell in Moria, his true self, being a spirit, went back to Valinor and so Manwe gave him more power to combat Sauron. Combat doesn’t mean, hand to hand, or power to power, but Gandalf is there ONLY TO GUIDE. and finally, gandalf won over saruman..........it was Gandalf who did all the "stick taking".......after the destruction of Orthanc by the Ents Gandalf visited Saruman for the last time and there he stretched out his hand to forgive saruman but saruman being defeated and yet still cunning denied Gandalf and went back upstairs but Gandalf called him, and there Sarumans Staff broke into pieces................daog gihapon si Gandalf, hehehehe....
