It's not necessary that you would believe or not believe that they exist. Just acknowledge that somehow they are present and you as a person is not paying attention to them because you are alive and probably don't care about them would at best leave them alone. They live on the other side now. Think of it as like this, if we are alive we see other living things, if we are dead they see dead people too, just like that. Well it's a gamers point of view, and I am a gamer myself and partially can see these bastards that sometimes freak me out, but leave them alone, they are just messing with you or better yet they may give a warning or some signs that might help you one day, just pray for their souls and they will wish you well too.
