i dont think a screen can replace the feel of a book. Although, i have a feeling that some things like the kindle will replace books. Its just the way things seem to be moving.

In +50 years pag wala na ung generation of book lovers. hehe.
For now madami parin sentimental people na gusto ung tangible books.
If BOOKS were to become obsolete... mingawon jud ko pag ayu og basa og libro kai mas mo prefer ko reading through books than an lcd monitor kai mag sakit jud akong mata kadugayan sa monitor. tsk3.
I just don't see that happening..
not now, not in the near future,
not even in the next century.![]()
No wui...I-print man gani naku akung mga .pdf files usa pa basahun...ahehehe...
Books made of paper promote sharing. When you like a book, you show it to your friends to read and vice versa. Gadgets like Kindle are not as easy to share. So I think books aren't going to go obsolete just yet.
i always love the smell of an old book... murag rugby, maka-adik... hehehe! ebooks make me dizzy. lahi ra jud ang feeling when you're able to flip through the pages of a good book.
I still prefer the smell of books as you flip through each page, as opposed to staring at a screen to read. I like that I can bring it to me at a cafe, or hold it and fall asleep while reading. Also, there is a more intense feeling of anticipation when you turn to the next page than just scrolling down.
I think it has a somewhat similar feel as writing by a diary/story by hand as compared to a blog or typing the words... there's a different connection. It's hmmm... more authentic.![]()
Kung ako lang pud, lahi gyud ang book. You smell the paper, you love how each page feels in your fingers and you feel triumphant with every turn of the page you make. And I easily get tired of reading when I use a laptop, lahi ra ang experience if it's a real book I'm holding in my hands.
But I have to face the fact that books require trees, and someday, eBooks may be the ecologically better option. Haay.
A few days ago I was reading this thick, hardbound book when I got really sleepy. Feeling lazy, I just put it there beside me with my arms around it. It's like sleeping with the author.![]()
