    saw the news too..."vaginal lacerations"...tsk2x...

i agree that the gov't should be partly blamed for the poverty in the country (if the family was rich would the suicide still happen? or if she was alledgedly abused would it still have happened?)...(coruption, graft..etc)

aside from putting the blame on the governmnt also we should act on our own ways to make a difference...

how?...by following the law (esp. on wages) yes, we should follow since they are put there for a reason...

some politicians maybe corrupt BUT it does not give us the right to generalize the whole flock...

Granting tinuod nga naghikog tungod sa kapobre,

Sorry, but i can never understand why the government has to be blamed for this.

Hahay.

To remind the government of the worsening poverty of the country is not pamulitika. Who is using the economic progress pitch in its commercials and speeches? Is it not the government? The people are just asking where is the truth of their propaganda.

Thats the problem of the government. It uses propaganda but when it will backfire, they will call it destructive politics.

The government is the one playing politics in the first place to shore up public support.

    OT:
there is nothing wrong w/ reminding the gov't on poverty issues. besides, our gov't (myt as well all of us) has long admitted this problem and has thus created programs to combat this. examples below:

the gov't: poverty alleviation bill, bill on the protection of women and children, low-cost housing & relocation, farmer's coop, farm-to-market roads, RORO system, OWWA bill...etc...

civic society: gawad kalinga, children's hour, rotary clubs, lions clubs, jaycees, to name a few...

the catholic church, protestant church, muslim groups: need i say more?

SME's: generates income & jobs (rattan factories, handicraft factories, woodcraft factories, motor-repair shops, sari-sari stores, hardware stores, botikas, jeepney operators, etc...)

OURSELVES: how 'bout u? r u trying to alleviate ur own kind of poverty w/o procrastination OR BLAME to anybody?

who? everyone should...this is good propaganda and statistics is backing it up as a fact. not only the gov't is making this pitch but also the business sector, tourism sector, etc... maski ako ug ikaw...why do it instead of just highlighting the negatives? more foreign investment confidence, good int'l image, good morale of citizenry, more tourism, etc...but of course, dat doesnt mean we dont take into consideration of the negatives also...we balance it, analyze it...YINGYANG...

u r putting words into another one's mouth. there's nothing wrong w/ propaganda if done in good ways. if u r talking about "politics", well that's another matter...

politicians use politics & campaigning for propaganda, earn votes, build up image, etc...

the church use catholic religion & death of christ as propaganda to promote catholicism.

terrorists bomb buildings, hi-jack planes...etc.. as propanda to create fear and promote their objectives.

brand names use tv or radio ads as propaganda to sell products.

YOU use ur "resume" as propaganda to sell urself in applying for work...

Instead of enumerating the projects which some are not of the government but of the private sector, why not asked the ordinary man on the street how he feels.

Everyone can mention kilometric litanies of projects but the point is, were it able to uplift the masses? Its easy to enumerate, its making an impact that is the problem.

Thats why all the government do is to flood the people with useless propaganda in the hope that with these barrage of false informations, people will finally accept that something good is done by the government.

Simply mind conditioning. You have a hungry stomach. The government would just tell you, "Nah, its just hyperacidity." Keep on repeating the hyper acidity pitch and the man may soon believe he was not hungry but only suffering from hyperacidity. Hitler keep on telling lies because according to him, a lie if repeated will become the truth.

    OT:
u cannot just ask a man on the street what he feels and then generalize everything. u have to do a survey if u want answers like that...
yes of course, we know the important thing is "impact" or results. that is always a vital part of any program or project anywhere in the world. basin sa Mars wala...
and knowing if it does or does not significantly create impact is not that simple. the timeframe, the goal could be short term, medium term, long term...we also need statistics (a science) as the analytical tool first...that is why the gov't is always talking figures in terms of statistics...

ALSO, if u really insist on asking every poor people on the streets, well, every one has their own story regarding poverty...examples:

a man on the street may have uplifted his poverty at least a little bit due to selling his xmas lanterns or tempura he learned to make thru DTI. but not good enough. well, he didnt finish high school saun man. paninguha nlng ug ihangad sa ginoo...

a woman on the sidewalk may have lost her income on kalamansi coz of the typhoon. the gov't cant do anything about that. but she can diversify.

a child on the street begging may have been due to his father's chronic gambling and drinking...the gov't cant do anything about that except only thru DSWD perhaps.

a poor teenager from the slums could have made better income coz of the call center he jst worked in. the gov't helped get call centers operating here.

I don't agree. IF YOU have a hungry stomach, the gov't will instead give u a piece of galunggong & tell u, "try to feed urself and not let somebody else do it 4 u...i will only help u get thru w/ ur hunger this time but i will teach u how to feed urself. anyway, there's enough fish in our beautiful lake to catch. look! even foreigners r coming to our lake to fish & even swim also! if u don't like our lake, then u myt want to go to another lake instead and i will still even help u. BUT if u still refuse to listen or understand wat im trying to say, den the hell with u."

or at least somebody give u a spoon & fork...the gov't doesnt give fish to eat, but only provide u the lake & teach u how to fish..or at least rent u a fishnet perhaps...but not give fish on a platter...

Lets just wait for the investigation on the girl.If she has been raped,we will wait for the policemen to know and catch the criminal.Question again..How accurate is the test to conclude that she has been raped?Even if theres laceration on her hymen,we cannot still conclude that she has been raped..
