Hi guys, i just got back to studying and took today the 642-821 BCRAN exam and.... passed 988/1000Just one more to go and i'm done with ccnp.
I would say that the exam was fairly easy compared to BSCI and BCMSN but I believe that you also need to practice well in order to understand fully these technologies. I couldn't simulate ISDN but I got a two line PSTN simulator that allowed me to practice asynchronous dial-on demand routing using legacy dialer maps and dialer profiles. It was quite close to ISDN and was instrumental to understanding dial-up technologies. Though the exam tests you with ISDN more than asynchronous, but the logic behind it is just the same. I think that about 65% of that exam was about ISDN BRI with dialer maps and dialer profiles, ppp, dial backup. The rest were frame-relay, vpn site-to-site, dsl and AAA. And also, be sure to know how to read ppp negotiation and authentication debugs.
Simulations were pretty straight forward: configuration of frame-relay hub and spoke (hub only to be configured) and ISDN BRI DDR.

@ridney
Thanks for your update bro. At least we have some ideas for the exam. Anyway, I'm working out BCMSN as of now. I have finished BSCI Last Feb. I wasn't able to proceed BCMSN that time coz i took and passed NCSS (nortel certified support specialist) for passport 8600 last month as per requirements for nortel. And now, i started back studying on switching. Hoping I could passed it too. By d way, i was curious about the pstn simulator, do you have any links for that? Thanks...
juantamad, i bought that from ebay for $20 last year. the isdn simulator was just too expensive (about $400) that i just couldn't afford to buy. anyways, the pstn simulator is still good for studying the remote access exam.
here's a link to the pstn simulator product description: http://www.digitalproductsco.com/ringit.htm
all the best to your BCMSN exam and let us know how it go...
best,
ridney
