Wow honestly I didn't know about this event til now, thanks for the update Divemaster!

I took the liberty in checking out the event in Stellarium, and this is how it will look like...

...this is at 5:18 PM, Cebu Time, western sky (so this is looking in the direction of Cebu's mountains)

Additional notes: This is an annular eclipse. Yes, the Moon will cross the Sun's disc completely over much of Borneo at 5:52pm and parts of Indonesia a bit earlier (Indonesia time). However, since the Moon is further away from the earth, the result will not be as spectacular as a total eclipse, because much of the sun's light will "spill" over the edges--there will be no total darkening of the sky.

From time to time, members of ALP (Astronomical League of the Philippines) do sell Newtonians or Cadiotropics, but if mahalan ka sa refractor being offered for sale in iStorya, basin makuyapan ka, when you learn how much branded, high quality telescopes+mounts cost (currently, in the Philastro Mailing list, J. Nasser of ALP is selling a Newtonian for US$8000.00) . Once or twice there were ALP members selling Dobsonians for as cheap as 15k pesos, but recently, none. I'm planning to build my own Dobsonian soon, I'll probably get the mirrors and eyepieces off Ebay, with help from some US-based friends.
