Of course.....it's like an atheist asking for an emperical evidence (at least "satisfactorily") that there is a god....

Some people are so ignorant it's just plain sad. There is not a single piece of evidence for religion. Religion is the purposeful suspension of critical thinking. You don't understand simple concepts such as empirical evidence. The bible is not a reliable source for anything, it's just a historical fantasy novel. 30% of Americans believe the bible is inherent and 10% have read it. Religious people have a lower IQ than atheists on average. Prove religion, oh wait, you can't.

    ^why?

i think it is interesting coz IMO if a person believes in a god, the way one defines that deity is a reflection of him/her as a person.

that's what i kept saying here. God is created by man, which I find so ironic considering that in Genesis it was supposed to be god who created man.

It's like the existence of the bible is the very manifestation of man trying to contain god into a book.

Well I guess the questions are too difficult for you to answer. Don't worry I'll look for an easier question for you to answer next time. It's just ironic that some atheists are just good in ranting but couldn't even provide a single appropriate answer from the thread.

Well for your question, my mother couldn't seem to dictate and stop me from what I want to do with my life and I am pretty certain that my life is so much fun than yours..

as to whose opinion does one trust in determining what is good or bad, right or wrong?
    - we all operate in one golden rule "do not do unto others what you don't want others do unto you"... you may want to argue that Jesus made this, but I think any sensible person would still come-up to this reasoning, even without being religious.
Still it doesn't answer the question as to why there is something rather than nothing.

The golden rule by the statement itself is too selfish, it devoid the meaning of love and compassion.

Meaning is relative to a person, I find it more beautiful, elegant that I exist for no purpose.
It's ironic to know that every single part of a human body has a purpose but the human body itself doesn't have one.

There have also been lots of war inspired by religion/god... if you look at the population of our local prison, how many people believe in god and how many doesn't?
War has a natural cause, a man's innate sinfulness. I'd say religious idealism being used for political advantage.

even now that there is a "concept" of god evil and suffering still persist. but then again, if you look at the whole picture of human history evil and suffering is but a tiny percentage... you may want to argue, that this is only possible due to there is a "god" but i would like to disagree..... by default I believe all humans have this "goodness" inside of them... it only depends on how they are being raced. I'm sure if most humans are raced to promote free flowing knowledge.. we would have lots of inventors, or scientist...
Human compassion indeed exist to everyone of us, except for the psychopaths. And by default man is prone to evil. Just imagine if right and wrong is subjective to every single one of us.

then we don't need to critique them, like Dr. House would say "if you can reason with religious people, there would be no religious people"

Who is to say that lying, or cheating or adultery or child molestation are wrong –really wrong? Where do those standards come from?
    - any sensible man would know that this things are wrong without putting god in the picture.
You can only say that since you already have an idea or right an wrong which if we are going to trace will lead us to ancient ancestors who believes in a supernatural entities..

it clearly states that the person asking this hasn't been out of the box... the person who are asking this is inspired by fear, fear of being nothing, fear of dying, fear of uncertainties, and fear of not being important.

why cant you just embrace your life for what it is right now, free of fear? after all nothing last forever... so enjoy the ride.
I don't know why fear such a thing, when dying will end ones suffering, nothing to worry, and nothing to think of.

Anyway thank you for taking time in answering those questions. Glad to hear answers from a true atheist.
