The fact is, Christians themselves can't even agree amongst themselves what it means to be a Christian. How many branches of Christianity are there? Countless, and new ones sprouting everyday. Each with their own interpretation of what it means to be Christian.

Well, let's be accurate. SOME Christians can't agree. But they comprise a minority of Christians. The Catholic Church has ONE consistent body of doctrine, and the number of Catholics outnumbers ALL other churches combined. I repeat: ALL other churches combined. So the MAJORITY of Christians DO agree on a body of doctrine.

this is correct if we only look at Christianity...of course the biggest sect is Catholicism ....but please remember we have very many Muslim brothers and sisters....21% of the world's population believe in Islam compared to Christianity's 33% (which includes all other sects e.g. Protestants, Anglican, Pentecostal , Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses etc)....either tabla2 ang Catholics and Islam...or morag mas daghan pa gani Muslims compared to Catholics.....

If God created Man in his own image, doesn't it also mean that in order for Man to catch a glimpse of God all Man has to do is to look at Himself?

If you refer to the physical image, NO. That's interpreting the Bible literally. That is precisely the manner in which the Bible should NOT be interpreted.

I meant, you know, that all things being equal, each man has the capacity to be spiritual, that the yearning and longing to seek and understand God is hardwired into our DNA, that we don't really need churches and preachers and books.

seems to me that you misinterpreted what I mean when I say I prefer to be more spiritual.... now I want to share to you a quote I found in the web....

Yes, I do agree.. churches and preachers seem irrelevant... but not all people think that way... some people really do need guidance and that's why there are churches and stuff. Though the church kinda helps a bit... but everything will still rely on the individual in terms of sprituality and stuff..
