It's not advisable to wear pantiliners everyday according to my OB too. But it really just depends on your own preference. If you're more comfortable wearing it everyday, then that's fine but when some girls do get infections from pantiliners, please don't assume that they lack proper hygiene. Some girls are just sensitive to the materials used by pantiliners and feminine pads and easily disrupt their natural PH resulting to infections.

panty liners are made to aid feminine hygiene .they are not made with some infection causing bacteria. so if one gets UTI while using panty liner, its not the panty liners fault but the one whos using it. maybe she walks around with the same panty liner for 3 days and doenst even care about changing it? of course thats like asking for an infection. anything we put or use down there can be potentially harmful if we dont know how to use it properly. it's not the product itself, but the misuse and the ignorance of the one whos using it. hygiene is not all black and white. it requires common sense.

you know what? my job allows me to look into people's medical records and i cant even count how many vaginal infection cases i see everyday and this thread actually helped me to understand why.

panty liners are created so that when you have your light days after/before menstrual period, you dont need to wear those bulging sanitary napkins.
so, during those days wherein you do not discharge those "gunks", you mentioned, so why wear one? unless if you get those gunks everyday.
that is why breathable liners are created because OB's receive a lot of complaints about UTI problems that are caused by pantyliners.
and Miss, you check on medical records? Who's medical records are you checking? You might want to calibrate,
maybe the reason for those high incidents of UTI is because the person who advised you to wear panty liners everyday, is the same person whom you worked for.

sometimes, people just commit the fallacy of overgeneralization. there's really no point of arguing here. lets go back to the basics. put it this way, everything has its good and bad side. yea, it is advised that panty liners are used but has to be changed every after 4hours(look @ the cost), because if we dont there's a probability of UTI... goes both ways. as everyone else is saying, wet tissues are also more advisable instead of using tissues.

so then, if one's comfortable wearing liners everyday then alright.
"I cant get UTI bec I'm practicing proper hygiene." It's not just the product itself nor ignorance. it still boils down to nature. whether we like it or not PROKARYOTES exist EVERYWHERE even if we change liners every sec.

so what are you saying? that you are so smart by not wearing a panty liner everyday? and so what if some people wear it everyday? does that makes us an idiot who does not listen to their OB? i wear it everyday but why i never got a UTI or whatever infection? and why do some people who does not wear panty liner everyday still got an infection? and just in case you dont understand my point. i never said not wearing a panty liner everyday is wrong. i just STRONGLY disagree that wearing it everyday will surely gives us UTI or infections. with or without gunk i wear it everyday and i dont care what the OB says coz i have enough common sense to know whats clean and whats not.
