According to the Bible, Jesus Christ was a man who lived on earth, but had a pre-human existence as an angel and God’s only begotten son. God sent Jesus to the earth to buy back the everlasting life that Adam and Eve lost when they sinned and doomed the human race to a future of sin and death. Jesus, as a perfect human was faithful to his Father’s wishes and redeemed mankind as a whole from a certain death by his fervent preaching work. The scriptures foretell that in the future Jesus’ kingdom will bring peace to earth as it is in heaven already. When that day will come, we do not know exactly, but the scriptures show it is close since it gives signs of the last days, things like pestilence, war and earthquakes which we know are worse than they have ever been.
