    THE WITNESS (2003)

    A woman, traumatized by a crime she just witnessed, rushes to the Women's desk of a near-by police station to give her testimony. However, her specific information makes the attending officer suspicious. Even more so later, when the witness mysteriously disappears.

    The Witness is SineBuano's first film project which is marked with the major contributions of then emerging filmmaker, Remton Zuasola.

    DONG (2008 )

    A lazy summer day in the slums leaves much for boys Dong and Ricky for amusement, until Dong is sent on an errand to bring a birthday gift to his Uncle Chubbs.

    This slice of life in Cebu's slums is an effort by Fil-American filmmaker Ryan Zarra to capture local color and culture, to compare with his own experiences and roots.

    Long ago, Cebu had its own film industry that was at par with the film industry in Manila. Then World war II came, followed by harsh economic times. There were efforts in the past to restart the industry but there were many hurdles and setbacks.

    Now is a totally different time. Digital technology has made the craft of filmmaking relatively more affordable and convenient.

    The Internet gives access to global audiences. The Philippines is being rediscovered and recognized in world cinema community. Cebu should be a part of this movement.

    We need your help in establishing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cinema course at the University of San Carlos-Cebu.

    At least 100 participants; who are genuine USC alumni and are genuinely interested to see finally a Cinema course offered by a major univeristy in Cebu, are required to take part in a feasibility study by the USC Admin and its Economics Feasibility team.

    The participants will have to answer questions in the survey, like “Do You think a BFA Cinema program in USC is a good idea?” and “Would you consider taking some classes in the future…” We’re looking for sincere support in the form of positive answers (i.e. “Yes!”) in this survey’s questions.

    If you’re a USC alumnus, it would be a great help if you can be a part of this survey study and invite your family and friends who are also USC alumni, not necessarily graduates of a Fine Arts major– any course as long as you and your friends are genuine USC alumni. Please feel free tag your family/friends to this note.

    If you and your USC alumni batchmates and friends want to take part of this study, please write down the following information on a list.

    We would need the following:

    * Full Name
    * Current Place of Residence
    * Course and Year graduated from University of San Carlos-Cebu
    * Contact information such as e-mail address/es and mobile number/s.

    Please submit these information to sinebuano@yahoo.com; please CC: mishaanissimov@yahoo.com and le2_budz@yahoo.com.

    Once we have a list of willing participants and their contact information, we would contact everyone on the list in regards to the next step.

    Please remember, we would at least need 100 participants for this study so round up your USC alumni family and friends, the more, the better.

    Your support and assistance in this endeavor, a solid step to re-establish Cebu’s filmmaking industry would be most appreciated.

    Hello, Im a newbie in this forum.

    I am a student filmmaker and is currently planning to shoot a short film in December to be entered in the upcoming sinulog film festival. I need someone with knowledge in cinematography/lighting as well as sound recording. Doesnt matter if you are a student as long as you have the experience and expertise on this field. If you know editing (final cut pro), that is a big plus. Location is in Southern Leyte so you must be able to travel for let's say a week for the shoot. Please email PM me if you are interested and provide link on some of your works and let's take it from there.

    Thank you.
