@firebasefury: why stop at 2.0ghz? hehehe! anyway, use the highest values for your ram timings (this will give more room for overclocking your processor, push your ram after you've found your processor's max overclock).
suggested settings:
cas latency: 3t
ras to cas delay: 3t
precharge: 3t
active pre-charge:8t
as for your psu, kung generic na, never mind... go to CrasHBURN's shop (Insotec) and do yourself a favor - get a better psu and more advice from him. c",) c",)
good luck!

interesting... mobile athlon xp on a desktop![]()
firebasefury: i think you need to change your motherboard... P4PE = i845 chipset... which has a max of 533MHz FSB... above that will give you 80% unstable system. get a i865PE motherboard instead.again, PM lang if kinhangan ka... hehehehe...
MSI 865PE Neo Motherboard is cool..epox has good one also...
@blade4638
I just want to have it OCed until the max limit without buying anything coz as I've said I will be building my new rig soon and i'll give this rig to my sister. by the way I'll try to apply what you told me today.
@CrasHBURN
My plan for my next rig is an i875 chipset with 1gig of mem and a 3.2 proc. I already have the budget for the Casing and the PSU but don't have time yet to canvass for the other parts. Busy man gud kaayo ko sa office wa pay time pag suroy2x![]()
@firebasefury: tell us your 3.3v, 5.0v, 12.0v, and Vcore readings (use motherboard monitor) when your system is not overclocked. a 1.7ghz p4 "a" proc will do 2.1ghz with stock cooling (tried this with 5 different p4 "a" procs in the past). your psu may be the cause. observe the readings as you increase your fsb little by litte (e.g. 5mhz at a time) from its default value. if the readings fall by 5% - 10% or more before you reach ~2.0ghz, then either be happy with the last fsb value before your pc automatically reboots, or get a new psu.
however, if the voltages are within 5% of its expected value as you near your 2.0ghz target, try increasing your ram voltage _one_step_at_a_time_ and continue testing. also note your voltage readings after you increase the ram voltage.
as i said, kung generic imong psu, never mind... don't expect to fly from paris to the u.s. in 4 hours on a fokker twin-turboprop plane. joke lang bro, hehehe! c",) c",) nowadays, there are just some things you can't do anymore using a generic 300-watt psu.
OK Blade I'll try to do that. I'll just post my result after. Thanks for your help bro![]()
@firebasefury: no problem bro c",) just keep up posted.
Di na ko anang OC. Hahahah! Malason ko. Gudthing i had my VC replaced.
