I was driving in my car with my iPhone 3G and took a sharp turn, sending the phone sliding into a hard plastic panel of my car. After the incident the phone screen flickers white all the time, with horizontal white lines and the text and picture bounces up and down. I've reset the phone a few times and tried a few light slams, but it's not getting any better. Any suggestions or will it be this way unless I get a new one? =/

Answer:

Best bet would be to restore a stock firmware and bring it to the genius bar. A flickering backlight is likely a hardware issue and any attempt to fix would require opening the phone and voiding your warranty. Easier to reflash back to stock firmware after making a backup and driving by the local Genius bar for a replacement.
