IMHO this cebu belief in itself started right after bagyo NITANG remember the We Are Cebu song, this is to make Cebu come out from the destruction of this storm with hope and determination. This was then followed by Ceboom. Although to some this thought process seems divisive, I beg to disagree because what Cebu really want is to package itself as a separate place, separate from Manila and Mindanao wherein it is a safe destination for tourism and investment. Remember the Philippines is getting a bad rap abroad due to corruption, coup and peace and order.

The Master PLAN is just a PLAN and a PLAN is just a guide or a roadmap to follow. This may come into fruition or not but at least there is a guide. There were a lot of plans that were done for Cebu that have come to fruition and are even starting to bear fruit. One of this was the MCDP which was divided into 1 and 2 this includes the widening of roads from North to South this also includes the road that traverses that SRP and as well as the plan for a road that would pass by North Reclamation area up to Consolacion.

What you are showing is a typical crab mentality which hinders growth which I believe is one of the reasons why the Philippines can't move forward. Your way of thinking is what divides this country, instead of encouraging you are discouraging people to move forward. What Cebu is doing should serve as a challenge to others and not as a threat.

Crab mentality eh. When you say "that Cebu really want is to package itself as a separate place, separate from Manila and Mindanao wherein it is a safe destination for tourism and investment", this sounds individualistic for me.

Separate place? What are you an independent country? Its like in a family. We live in poverty but hey one said, "ah they are not my brothers, I am totally separate and independent."

    This is arrogance.

So what's wrong with being individualistic? If you call it arrogance, so be it. But hey which other province in the country can boast of such achievement as Cebu? It's infrastructure is second to none in the country and pleazzee don't quote Laguna/Pampanga/Cavite, if these provinces are not peripherals to the NCR they wouldn't get the trickles of Manila's progress.

Cebu has a lot more to go, but its ganing a lot of progress. So what's your problem? I understand you've lived in Cebu for a number of years and you experienced some "discrimination" as you fondly quote on your other posts within Istorya. You know what? It's because of your sore loser attitude and crab mentality crap.

If there's one thing I hate though, its those Bisaya people who "kunwari speaks tagalog" in thier effort to cover up thier provincial roots.

That's what separates us Cebuanos from the rest of the other Bisayans buddy boy, we are bloody proud of our culture, history and most of all our success. We speak our language and boast our achievement and ain't ashamed of it.

Individualism breeds disunity, greed and prejudice. Its a bane for unity and development.

Guess you only need someone like Hitler (the superiority of the Aryan race) and I think it will be like Nazi Germany. People should wake up from this lunacy.

Its only a plan but I am worried about the social costs of this program. Will this contribute to a better society? or will this drive people to materialism and consumerism frenzy, and in the end bring more suffering to the people rather than their well being. I am not an expert of development but I am more concern of the human side of it.

Kaya lang medyo O.T. yung response ng iba. Na kesyo Cebu is better than the others etc. That is not the point but I am obliged to argue with them to let thm see the downside of this project and the prevailing attitude of Cebuanos about development and modernization. We have to bealance everything. Its not about money and tourist and reputation. Its about maintaining the sanity of society amid the frenzy of materialism and consumerism.
