Master Yoda's Quote “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”
Lisod dyud siya bro, lisod in terms of patience (which I have very little sometimes hehe). Like what Tarmac said "Logistics, logistics, logistics."
Going back to topic, if they didn't focus on the Marines, the series would have been 100 episodes instead of 10 lol. I remember a favorite novel I read as a teen, "War and Remembrance" by Herman Wouk 1000+ pages (murag "War and Peace" ni Tolstoy) and some chapters devoted to Midway and Guadalcanal. The novel really gives you a feeling of how immense/global the war was. I hope this ambience is present in "The Pacific" and not too focused on the Marines as "a single mighty force out to win the war"...war is a gigantic machine, and again, a machine dependent on logistics, logistics, and more logistics.

Very difficult to get a feel for the war's true breadth and scope in only 10 episodes. The series is driven by personal stories, so I don't expect it to try too hard to put things in perspective for non history-savvy viewers. But it'll be interesting to see how they put it all together. I doubt I'll be disappointed because this is the very series I was hankering for from the time I saw Band of Brothers.
The Peleliu campaign is getting more than one episode and I'm happy to see that. It's one of the war's forgotten battles and "The Pacific" seems to be trying to rectify that.
"Contact on the left!"
"No Sh!t."
That pretty much summed up episode 2 for me. Look I'm no WWII history buff or anything but if you enjoyed Band of Brothers, there's no reason you should miss this.
Looks like this should be showing this week![]()
