AMDG to distribute Guild Wars in the Philippines

LOCAL game distributor Asian Media Development Group (AMDG) is set to sign a contract that will make it the official exclusive distributor of Guild Wars in the Philippines, INQ7.net learned Thursday.

Guild Wars is a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) that combines mission-based and role-playing gameplay.

Officials declined to comment but a source indicated that the contract signing is scheduled for next week, with officials from the South Korean game publisher NCSoft and game developer Arenanet witnessing this event.

The source said that AMDG is not entering the local online game publishing market following the contract signing. However, this would be its first foray into the distribution of an MMOG.

AMDG has been distributing games by Vivendi Universal.
