imagine this: we could hardly dispose our garbage. how much more on disposing nuclear garbage.

nuclear plants are very risky and expensive to maintain aside from threats to mother nature. if you're planning in putting up a nuclear power plant, why not build another geothermal plant which is a feasible source of energy for us.

accidents do happen. i've heard several accidents happened in geothermal plants in leyte and negros, but di kaayo grabe ang epekto sa ato. what if that accidents happened on a nuclear plant! oh my God! easier said than done! and don't compare our country to Japan!

bro doce_pares: it's not that easy pud bro for the PNOC to build a geothermal power plant in any volcanoes in our country. I ask my uncle about this and ingon siya na risky pud daw kung magtukod ta ug geothermal kay daghan lagi kuno volcanoes diri na potential na matukuran ug power plant pero mga active volcanoes man sad. what if kung mag tukod sila ug planta and then mo errupt ang volcano? asa man padung ang atong investment?

kinihanglan pud bro i consider pud na ang volcano na tukuran kay kinihanglan inactive pud siya. look what happen to mayon volcano now? if naa ta diri nuke plant sa cebu, ka nindot jud kay wala gyud ta problema sa energy and maka tabang pa gyud ta ug hatag sa uban na mga probinsya na nag kinihanglan.

@sanosuke: if fissible ang project bro, dili man seguro ang cebu city government ang mo andam sa budget. Ang Department of Energy man seguro ang mo andam sa budget with the help from malacanang pero dili ko sure ha basta akong nahibaw-an ana kay dili gyud ang local government nato ang mo andam sa budget.

entropy? the law of conservation of energy means that energy is neither created nor destroyed, meaning the total energy present at all time is just d same, it just changes form. so let's take d example of ur house: u take in electricity say 100kW, that energy is jst converted to sound, light or heat but if u take d total of it, same 100kW will b d sum.Now if dis s d case, den y do we bother 2 generate more electricity?

d answer s entropy! altho energy is neither created nor destroyed, it is reduced to some form less useful as it goes down the chain of events..
