To make things more objective. Can you guys list the taxable items that the church should declare? All I see in here are just conspiracy theories and rhetorics, but no substance at all.

well for one thing, money earning interest in the bank is taxable. and i REFUSE to believe churches don't utilize this.
    there's property/estate tax, of course.
considering churches are supposed to be NON-PROFIT organizations. their books should have a 0 balance coz all expenses are accounted for. if naai surplus money it IS taxable.
    That's how corporations are taxed.

^^^Very well, I agree to taxed properties owned by the religious which are earning profit (e.g. leased to businessmen for commercial purposes), which are taxed anyway, so there is no need to pass or change a law for that. But for direct religious purposes, there is no need for that. I think thats fair enough. As far as I know, tax exemptions are not automatic for properties, the institutions have to apply for it and show proof that its eligible for exemptions (e.g. use for religious purposes only).

As for bank accounts, I don't think anyone is exempted from paying income derive from interest from bank savings. Those are automatically deducted I supposed. So thats fair enough.

    Anymore items?

hmm... not exactly sure about this but i read in a real estate handbook and i believe if someone who owns a property and declares it as a "donation" (like to a church) then believe there are certain tax perks that he can exploit with it.

problema lang bro, mga tao motoo man anang eternal damnation gud. mao nay panghadlok sa simbahan. people are still believing a church is the only connection to save your soul. maybe it's more practical to be a humanist at this time.

ky ako di jud raba ko motoo anang kalag, simba. ky kung mamatay ta, patay. wa man gyud tay kalag. soul is only a metaphor, used as a figure of speech. pareha gud anang iro kung mamatay, d ba patay ra. kta pud as human. also a living specie. mao unta ning e-educate jud ang tao na we don't need a church ky we as human has control on our ownselves.

di lang ta maghisgot anang soul ug kalag bro kay ma OT ta diri.

bitaw, i agree with what you said. just like angels and demons ni dan brown. hehe

but i strongly support that the church should be taxed based on income. to hell with "they use funds far more effectively" thing. heck, if lucio tan uses funds far more effectively and makes a christian school with cheaper tuition, should you exempt taxes from his tobacco company? c'mon, we are far more logical than that
