    If the captain is dead or not, it doesn't matter. Sulpicio has one of the worst safety records in the world. They should be held responsible. If they can't be responsible, they should be shut down!

    OT: Would if t be accurate to say that Dona Paz tragedy was worse than The Titanic?

    Anyway, rated na gyud ang Sulpicio Lines na ilang ships dili sea-worthy. They should be out of business by now. Kung ako tag iya aning Sulpicio, di siguro ko katulog after Dona Paz, Dona Marilyn, Princess of the Orient, Princess of the World and now Princess of the Stars. Pero mas wa gyud ayo atong gobyerno, kay wa gyud sila maka-impose sa pag permanently ground aning Sulpicio Lines.

    di jud na ipasira sa gobyerno ang SLI bisan pila pa kabarko ilang ipalunod kay dako kay na silag TAX nga gitampo sa gobyerno.. Kay tungod dako man og benefit ang gobyerno nila mao bisan way ayo na shipping line, hala operate gihapon..

    mao na man jud na ato gobyerno! wala na jud kausaban!
    unless nalang siguro if ang pamilya sa presidente ang maapil sa lunod basin pa automatic wala nay operation ang sulpicio!

    Actually in the bridge and the whole ship .... kung familiar ka ug mga Maritime jargons , The SKIPPER bottomlines everything . Defintiely siya ang key to pin down sa SLI mao bitaw SOP na sa SLI na everytime naay TRAGEDY mawala ug kalit ang KAPITAN . Kadtong previous 4 tragedies nila , do you know as ana ang 4 ka kapitan pod ? Hehehe .... thats what I thought . CHief engineer ? 2nd Engineer ? 3rd Engineer ? Mga titulo ra na bai .. they dont have the balls and the voice to be heard in a vessel .

    Mao ni ang killer question and I hope naay mo answer ani . If you are in the shoes of Capt Marimon , would you still sail the seas because SLI said so but from xperience you knew already that it is risky for the ship , crew and passengers ?

    oy!!! capitan baya pod ako asawa, 2 of my son are seaman and 4 of my brothers are seamans too! mao ayaw jud pag ingon na if naa bagyo dili na dayon mag byahe! base sa ako experience ako asawa magbyahe lang ghapon bisan naa bagyo basta dili lang sila maigo sa bagyo!

    besides, katong pagbyahe sa sulpicio, signal #1 pa! walay shipping lines nagkansel ug byahe, pagkaugma pa nagsignal #2 which is ang uban na shipping lines mao pay pagkansel sa ila bihaye!

    kinsa man kunong capitana ang gusto mamatay or madisgrasya sa dagat, wala man siguro!!!!
    mao gani daghan sila training para in case of emergency they know what to do!
    but not in all case, of course!!!!!
    Only God knows unsa mahitabo!

    Bisan unsaon sa capitan pag amping, observed sa safety measures if kabubut on sa Ginoo ang mahitabo, walay jud ta mahimo or bisan kinsa pa na maayong tawo sa kalibutan!!!!

    in my own opinion,he's very alive and kicking..maybe he's hiding somewhere in the philippines..
    the captain is the head of the ship...he knows evrthing..in other words,he has the highest percent of survival..when says "abandon the ship' hes very far from it..
