Take note that those missionaries are not from that place where they are assigned, they want to be as close and familiar as possible to those people whom they love and share what they believe in...

They normally stay (or assigned in that area) for a specific period of time (ave.? 3 moths).

    CIA - No!
Walking as part of healthy habit and excercise - Yes!
Limited allowance for travelling - Yes!

Mission for us is a Sacrifice...(Time, Money, Effort and Energy)...We save our own money so we will have something to spend serving people (sharing the gospel or good news or glad tiding as what other termed it) during our Mission with the assistance of our Family, Relatives, Friends and the Church (Yes, we spend our own money as much as possible)...

We just don't walk for nothing...we share, we love, we sacrice for everyone!!!

BTW....I am not from Cebu but learn the beautiful people here....Working as a Supervisor on one of the Call Centers here at IT Park!!!
thanks kay naa na gyud member dinhi nitubag.

    about ani nga imo statement:

"Reason? We want to be familiar with the area in terms of where to go and the specific houses of members and investigators (amo gipangtudluan). "

is this true or according to your doctrine in you book of mormons?
by reading your book its clear that you keep on walking because you are looking for someone.

    have you know this?

which do you prefer to use, the HOLY BIBLE or BOOK OF MORMONS by joseph smith?

    Peace!

Anyway LDS missionaries walk because they're encouraged to. It promotes humility, frugality all that stuff I'm sure the bible mentions yeah? See when you talk as if you know a lot about the congregation and say things like...That means you probably know the answer to your own shallow question right? But you want somebody to come out and post something in response so you can slam their beliefs to the ground. Stop beating around the bush and say what you want to say rcruman. Like I said, bashing the mormons only makes you look like a bigot.
I will be not justified by your own statement, but rather by the bible.
I'm just here to discuss and it seems youre so much affected, remember this is a forum.

    Peace!

Anyway, I do not want to convert anyone here because we respect every religion on earth and there are plenty of good people around and that is the main reason why " Missionaries walk " to proselyte. Get to know people and teach them if they are interested. No need money to be taught even the book of mormon we distributed is free

Yes, I am a missionary too before and served in Bacolod Mission.

I will try to answer some of your questions if I am not busy

I think everything you do in your church were stated in your doctrine or book of mormon, right?

no offense bro, have you read it all and know the reason why you keep on walking?

    Peace!

you, rcruman a.k.a. Mr. Bible Man, don't know the answer? now, that's an understatement. ('c',)

Me affected? Amused maybe... Hell I should probably be offended by your intentions since I'm a Mormon, albeit inactive. But I'll let you be since I know there's no point in arguing with you.

Aren't you satisfied with the reasons provided why missionaries kept on walking during the course of doing thier missionary work?

Also take note that they don't just keep on walking (they have schedules to follow, like going out to proselyte "or walk as you termed it" from at least 9am til 9pm), they also sleep and eat like any of us, they also play sports, read, sing, and anything valuable to mind, body and spirit.

I guess you have something on your mind that you want to share...why don't you just share it rather than waiting for the answer/s that you want to read from this forum....it's kinda hard to guess what you really want to get from your question, since we already provided you the honest answer.

Do you have anything against missionaries walking? or we being members of the church in particular? or its leaders?

From what I know bro we have not taken advantage of anyone....we treat life and people fair and square in all honesty...

Thanks for the respect bro. I/we also extend respect to all our friends here at Istorya!!!

Celebrate life bro, enjoy and have fun....
