As usual, you provide ZERO EVIDENCE to back up your mindless claims. I asked you to PROVE that the media COLLABORATED to sensationalize the murder of the tombstone maker. You gave NONE.
LOLZ ... what tombmaker ? Are we talking to epmty walls and beating the bush here Manny ? We are discussing how the system works and not only to that specific victim . Here we go again ... MISLEADING iSTORYANS .

Yes as usual ... the AD HOMINEM CELEBRATION and ADJECTIVE GALORE of MANNYBOY .

Contradicting yourself again? Tell me, how can you come to the conclusion that the vigilantes are hunting down chronic criminals when you clearly admitted that you CANNOT actually identify who is killing whom? Perhaps you have a crystal ball in between your ears?

How did I contradict myself when it is clearly understood why the VIGILANTES existed . DO you even know why they existed ? What we cant be so sure of is WHO is WHO but we are sure of WHAT is WHAT and WHY is WHY . Gets na ??

Ive waited for ages of your brilliant minds suggestion of a better and crimeless Cebu ...and please dont give me that horsecrap of NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH Mannyboy .

@springy....decide na lang ko to pick up where you left off ..bahin suggestions to minimize if not eliminate vigilantism...

in my opinion criminals can be categorized into 3 major groups ..(puede daghanon pero ang main categories lang ako i-present aron di ma taas to the max!):

1 - the desperate ones....ang ila intawon loved ones either wala nay gikaon...naa sa ospital...etc etc...in dire need of money to cover just the basic needs of man

2 - mga adis2....nga tungod sa bisyo kinahanglan mo buhat ug dautan to sustain their addiction

3 - mentally ill people...include na dire ang rapists, murderers, hard core criminals...nga kon sabton pa nato nga mga ordinaryong tawo...way rason to kill...but still do these karumaldumal acts....

SOLUTIONS: (di man jud ni matawag ug solutions...maybe steps to start resolving the problems)

Group 1 - government to provide livelihood projects ....charity organizations to fund microcredit plans (aron di mangutang sa loan sharks nga dagko kaayo ug interest) ....these group of people need a leg up...kon naa maka hatag source of income...i believe this people will not do crimes kon ma self sufficient na sila...kay these are just people nga kapit sa patalim kay wa na juy mahimo....

Group 2 - rehabilitation programs...i need not say more

Group 3 - psychological help...counseling etc etc....di kaayo ko ka expound ani kay morag lisod ni nga grupo luwason...pero i still believe naa pa juy mahimo ....

kon naa lang jud siguroy helping hand nga i-extend...most of these people will not resort to crimes....ako lang sad na...unsaon pusong mamon man gud ko...i still believe in the inherent goodness of man....

na hala...mao ra na akong i-ka tampo....

OT: springy...i-PM kaha na imo name , address and suking tindahan kay ikaw akong manito...nya mo larga na raba ko hapit pa Cebu

    @ GWYNN ...

I do believe kanang mga suggestions niom are very OBTAINABLE and REASLITIC but not for the moment . The solution for me and it will be attainable for the next 15 or 20 years or so is to IMPROVE EDUCATION . Majority sa mga kriminal kay madatu o pobre na is dili EDUKADO . That means , when they do their crime spree , kay di sila edukado , they are not thinking of CONSEQUENCES and CHAIN REACTION of their ACTS .

Ang tao na EDUKADO na nagkalisod ug ni kapit na sa patalim dili mo buhat ug " KARUMALDUMAL " hehehe because they know how to utilize the COMMUNITY / GOVERNMEN LIVELIHOODS .

OT : ok ra ko maam kay nakabalita ko GALANTE daw ka . Hihihi .... pwede magpadala ug sobre/suwat sa Cebu ? AKo lang siya isud sa microwave aron safe ug dili mabasa^ .

I wont and I dont agree with this.. ang mga snatchers diha bay mamili pud og biktimahon..and they strike when you least expect it...
but heres another suggestion..try wearing a necklace and expose it while riding a jeepney, then wait for the go signal..or try txting nga obvious imong phone while ga jeep...
og di na ma snatch imong kwentas, sure ko labhag jud na imong liog...
the last crime Ive witnessed was ang akong tupad na chicks, gi hulbot iyang earrings..dugo iyang right ear..

unya ang snatcher simple lang kaayong nilakaw...

good for you you did not get snatch or get hold up. But then again the snatchers or hold-upers are very keen in choosing a victim and they know when and where to strike when it is least expected.

@ MANNYBOY .... why COlon ? Are you even sure you are in COlon ? Basin KOWLOON , HK ? Just because there is no threat according to you makes a statement ? Or maybe you are full of you know what like the last time you told me you talked to your MEDIA FRIENDS kuno . Crime even happens inside malls and hotels , much more on a poverty driven area where eating twice a day is a miracle ??

It's bad enough you can't think rationally. Must you demonstrate you can't read as well?

why COlon ? Are you even sure you are in COlon ?
Because it was claimed that it is NEVER safe to walk in Colon. My experience disproves that statement. I know exactly where Colon St. is and am quite familiar with the surrounding area. You did read that didn't you? Oh yeah... you have trouble reading...

I will claim its never safe in that area, Its not that scary but its really not safe. Your experience wont disprove anything. Subjective ra kaayo bay. What happened to you may not be the same with Pedro, Joe, and Jane Doe.
I lost my second 3310 4 years ago there, Ive witnessed 3 snatchers and one wild chase..

And maybe your familiarity with the place makes you familar for the snatchers also, so they never bothered..

... i agree raddi, like i said, all you need to do when traversing Colon is act as if you're an expert of the place. Don't like you're a new-comer. Be street smart. Be vigilant. On my own account, i had my necklace lashed out of my neck near Gaisano South, my ring taken away near SunGold, after these experiences i've learned my lesson.
