Have u seen their game against Mexico, if Carmelo wasn't hitting his shots, ambot nalang...d kaau nila malamangan ug dako ang kontra...how much more if they'll play Argentina nga ingana ang ilang dinuwaan for that game? I would expect it will be a close game...then how much more if Pepe Sanchez, Manu, Oberto, Hermann & Nocioni will play in the Olympics....eng eng eng...saonz nalang jud lagi ani ron...mau lang lagi ug mangigo..ang nakapait ani is islow down pa jud sa kontra para d sila kaduwa sa ilang open game...samot kaluya ani....

if Carmelo wasn't hitting... then the other guys will.... do you know who Kobe is?.. how bout LBJ?.. Williams?.. Miller? Redd?.... do you think USA is only relying on Carmelo's points?... lolx..

that's y my point is to consider bringing in either TD or KG or both..since the three younger players can;t just rely blocking those shots from way above the rim...which won't happen if manu, oberto, nocioni will be playing against them since they will consistently attack their defense...nobody from Argentina attacked consistently during this game yet they were ONLY down by 20 or something, taken into consideration that their guard shot the ball exceptionally well and the forced many errors that were converted into dunks...international game is not a game of one-one-one or whose the strongest inside the paint...look what Scola did in this game, he attacked in/out against their big men..unfortunately he got into foul trouble in the 1st quarter and kobe was awesome hitting 3 3pointers in the period..I would still think 1 of them will not be coming back to the Olympics, probably Tyson Chandler... and I'd like to see TD play 1 more time for USA, either for personal redemption or whatever... he makes playing basketball enjoyable to watch, he can pass, set screens, defend - just like you have another JKidd on the floor..
Which three? Kobe, LeBron and Carmelo? Or Howard, Stoudemire and Chandler? Either way, everybody is still helping everybody. USA's 15-point win over Argentina is in someway bad but pretty sure Coach K and the rest of the USA squad is doing something about it. The way I see it, both Howard and Stoudemire are included in the USA line-up because of their dominance and versatility, though both are really not good perimeter shooters, they can keep up with USA's running and open game, especially when Kidd running the break or Kobe attacking the rim and dishing out. Chandler on the other hand, being a part of NBA's rebounding and shot blocking leaders, is simply brought in for his defense. Chandler is seldom used by the team, who needs his defense when USA is up by 20 or 30 points in the first place.. Typical FIBA basketball, teams keep their players for the big time. Coach K could be keeping Chandler for the Olympics.

Speaking about Ginobili and the rest of the Argentine stars, USA's got a lot of players to throw to them. Kobe can take Ginobili, as well as Tayshaun Prince and even Kidd. Playing Ginobili one-on-one defensively and playing Argentina defensively using zone defense, USA's got a greater chance of winning, way greater than their 15-point win lately.

I'd rather stick with USA's current line-up rather than adding someone else even Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett. Though either of them will bring more experience to the team, the current team is solid enough at both ends of the floor.

but still dili pa kaayo comfortable ang USA mag zone..they still have to learn it and unlearn their usual playing habits

^^Mao jud. That's why USA has to stick with their current line-up para mas mapadali ang pag improve or change sa system. Their 15-point win over Argentina is a message. Though it's a big lead, at USA's standard and knowing what Argentina can do, it's not really a safe lead and a good win. Labi pud against European teams, USA has to learn the zone defense kay mas maayo ang mga European teams compared to the American teams, especially kung kinsa ang moqualify. Spain, Lithunia, Italy and even Germany, France and Greece are the teams in the list.

I'm referring to Amare, Dwight & Tyson since the other BIG 3 is a shoo-in for this team since w/o them saonz nalang...My point here is when time comes that their outside gunners are not making shots, they would be having a hard time scoring points, especially if they won't be able to force interceptions - that would lead to fastbreaks (another highlight please....) -- which is very possible against Argentina (w/ Manu, Oberto, Nocioni, Sanchez back in the fold) or Greece, Spain, Italy and those other Euro teams...I'm still skeptical about their second 5 or backups since there are times they're stagnant playing each other, wherein they should polish their offensive schemes when they are fielded during blowouts...also, regarding their big men, I'm still doubtful regarding their offensive contribution especially if they won't be receiving those passes which would lead into dunks...I haven't seen them consistently score within their offensive schemes, it's all lay-ins, dunks...though they should be getting this type of scenario basing from their competition but come Olympics, I doubt they would have those easy points come their way just like what they're getting now...

I'm actually referring to "what if" they won't be hitting their shots during a game, it's a reality..that's what we call in bball "drought" in a specific quarter, half or if they are unfortunate in a game...yes i do know all of them...if I'm not mistaken it's the big 3 who are consistently hitting their shots...Michael Redd? i think he's not that consistently hitting his shots though..samot na si Mike Miller, after slightly twisting his ankle he never made consistent baskets....he's in a drought now... so don't laugh out loud 'coz ur mouth might shutup if there's a team that would beat them with the given scenario...hehehhe....

"what-ifs" ... its kinda peculiar if "all" of them will not be hitting their shots.. they're all stars... superstars... it might happen but kinda peculiar.... and if we're going to dig on "what-ifs".... then what if the other teams will not be hitting their shots too....

we cant dig on "what-ifs"... they can always dunk the ball for God sake in the rim..... would that be hard? would they still miss that dunk?.. 95% chance of missing a dunk... so please... dont dig on "what-ifs"...

are they going to dunk the ball from the free throw or three point line? i don't think so..we all know it's an unlikely scenario but it can happen, that's y I said "what if"....if you can't dig that (nor u can't accept the fact they can't be defeated then what's ur point in opening this topic?!)...

LOGIC ... that's the best word to describe it... who is sane enough to dunk the ball from the three point line a game?.... tell me... please..... tell me...a dunk is one of the highest percentage field goals one can attempt in basketball... why would you dunk it from the three point line?!... or from the free throw line?(though possible and proven..).. would that be a HIGH PERCENTAGE shot if ever?! ...

i started the thread for FIBA AMERICAS... is not that im hear to prove that USA cant be defeated... i was presenting my view... based on what I've observed, others have observed.. and based on stats... can you dig that?! ..

    sixxxling hotx!
