Guys, I need help on OC. I tried OCing my P4 1.7 last night and I was able to make it to 2095. I thought it was working fine, because windows loads with no problems at all. But when I tried loading NFSU after a few seconds it will just reboot. By the way these are my spec:

    Asus P4PE mobo w/ LAN
    Intel Pentium 4 1.7 Ghz
512 mb PC 2700 Kingston memory
    40 Gb Seagate 7200 rpm
    120 Gb Seagate 7200 rpm
    HIS Radeon 9800XT 256 MB
    Pinnacle PCTV TV tuner
    Sound Blaster Audigy
    Asus 16x DVD driver
    Asus 24x10x48 CDRW
    Millenary Casing (Champagne silver)

    pila ka watts imong psu?
    try relaxing your dram timings (e.g. 2.0-2-2-5 -> 3.0-4-4-8 )
try increasing ddr voltage (am using 2.85v sa akong p4p800dlx)
    try increasing vcore
unsa hsf imong gamit? (you're using some thermal grease, right?)
    finally, unsa imong p4, "a" or "b"? (400 or 533mhz psb)?

    I'm currently using a 300watt psu (stock)
about the DRAM timings? is it the option found on the chip configuration menu:

    SDRAM CAS Latency
    SDRAM RAS to CAS delay
    SDRAM precharge
    SDRAM active pre-charge

I can't find the figures you give me above.
I have increased the vcore voltage to 1.85v and the ddr voltage to 2.9v.
about sa P4 processor its a 400FSB proc. but the mobo supports 400, 533 and even 800FSB but already overclocked its found on the ASUS site.
And I don't have a thermal paste, I know I should get one soon.
BTW, what does HSF stands for? I don't know what that means.

HSF stands for Heat Sink & Fan

    @firebasefury:
about your psu: 300watts is kind of low... can you give us the current rating on its 5V, 3.3V, and 12V lines?
about the dram timings: yup, you're right. give us those values... or, try to relax them a bit (higher numbers mean more relaxed timings)
your vcore: its too high. i had a p4-1.7a before that did 2.4ghz at default voltage (~1.5V) but hey, that was _my_ p4 (and i used a thermaltake spark 7 hsf on it). c",) try replacing the hsf with a better one (or at least, remove the thermal pad underneath the stock hsf and replace it with any silicone/silver based thermal grease if you can't afford a new hsf)
about your ddr voltage: 2.9V is a bit high. increase the ddr voltage as a last resort, if your system isn't stable (after determining your processor's highest, stable speed), also, at what ratio are you running your mem with respect to processor fsb?

    Firebasefury:

try increasing more voltage... replace your powersuplly with at least 350W... NOT Generic... Task also has high end dual-fan powersupplies, 350W, 450W... (PM me if interested). And please, dont forget to replace your stock HSF with a better one.

About the DDR timings these are the only option I have these options:

    SDRAM CAS Latency 1.5T, 2T, 2.5T. 3T
SDRAM RAS to CAS delay 2T - 3T
    SDRAM precharge 2T - 3T
    SDRAM active pre-charge 5T, 6T, 7T, 8T

I only want to make my 1.7 to 2.0 Gig without adding/updating any new parts. Im already planning to make my second rig, If available na akong minerals

I'll just give my PSU current ratings when I get home I only surf the internet in the office because its free "-)
