the only negative comment (just a minor one) that I have for Inno3D is that they did not include any SLI bridge connector together w/ the GPU. this negative comment holds true to ASRock for they did not ship out a SLI or CrossfireX bridge connector together with the mobo... tsk tsk tsk...

spent 50 rmb (320 php) for one SLI bridge connector though... lami na man ni na snacks unta... hehehe...

    peeps,

as promised, here's the review on the Inno3D GTX 660 Ti (2GB) iChiLL Dragon Edition on 2-way SLI... on a SB I3-2120... mobo: ASRock Fatality Z77 Professional... system memory: 16GB...

The chart... BF3 was played on 1920 x 1080 @ Ultra Preset... 64 players on large maps

this GPU hog game is very good in SLI mode. but i guess, my i3-2120 was a sure bottle neck on the SLI set-up. the official review sites showed a good scaling performance on the 2 way SLI for the GTX 660 Ti. most of their results showed almost double or double the average FPS when compared to a single GPU set-up... but mine was only around a 62% incease on the average FPS. anyhow, the game was fluid and the eye candy in playing BF3 in ultra setting was awesome... even though, the current i3-2120 with the GTX 660 Ti in SLI can play the game fluidly, it would be a nice to have to upgrade this CPU to a more powerful quad core SB or IV CPUs so as to handle the complexity and power of the SLI set-up. para magamit ang gibayaran na extra power in purchasing the 2nd GPU.

now, let me share the GPUs temperatures here on this review... had shared this on the other thread but, OT naman to did2 kay "Show us your rig man to na thread. naglami ang discussion man gud did2. anyway, let me share this here... this is the appropriate thread for the discussion. cut and paste ni sa post from the other thread...

    mao ni ang test methodology...
    > stabilized the room @ 25 Deg C for 2 hrs
    > switched on the PC after the room temp had stabilized for 2 hrs
    > let the PC sit idle for an hr
    > then capture the screen shots...*
    > finally, played the game for 30 mins then start capturing the screen shots at load

    Heater temperature set @ 25 Deg C

mao diay ni ang info sa mga GPUs... then the same ra sila duha... factory OC ni sila then akoa pa gyud gi manual OC... init gud ni sya if bati ang cooling system

    GPU 0 @ idle state... fan rpm @ 30%

    GPU 1 @ idle state... fan rpm @ 30%

    GPU 0 @ load state... fan rpm @ 40%

    GPU 1 @ load state... fan rpm @ 40%

changed the fan rpm and set it to 80%

    GPU 0 @ idle state...

    GPU 1 @ idle state...

    GPU 0 @ load state...

    GPU 1 @ load state...

ang pag switch from 80% load to 80% idle diay kay wla na nko na gi pa stabilize ug pila ka minutes... akoa lang gi huwat na mo maintain ang ubos na temp as shown sa GPU-Z kay duka na kaayo... hehehe... for sure, wala pa mo stabilize then internal temp nya but, naa naman birds eye view na na capture about the temp going down... akoa lang gi capture then present it here then tulog...

as the set-up is in SLI mode, it would be expected that the temperature inside would rise as it gets hotter during GPU loads, so i monitored the air exhaust. to my surprise, the exhauast air was cool. the mobo temp was only at 28 Deg C max as shown on the Fatality F-Stream montoring software. it would be nice though to use a temp monitoring device with physical probes on it para ma double check ang mga reading. perhaps, one of these days, i might purchase one. pero, dili man ko ganahan ani kay wla man gamit... duha2x pa ko... hehehe...

these are the facts that i got on GPU-Z for the iChiLLs... Inno3D really kept their "word"... and i'm one of the happy Customers... for sure, i will be one of their returnee and very satisfied Customer on the next GPU purchase...

    GTX680, 1920x1200, ultra settings, 2xmsaa, ssao = 51fps
GTX660ti, 1920x1080, ultra settings, 8xmsaa, hbao = what do you expect?

samot na gyud nang Crysis 3 for sure in its "highest presets"... but we would only know the real scenario if maabot na ni na game...

nindot pud unta naa'y mo share na uban regarding sa actual experience nila sa GPU nila for gaming. with an acceptable data gathering then butangan ug analysis para ma share pud sa uban. taas2x lang lagi hinoon ni na process. dili man ni hangad sa langit then kuhag numbers. mag establish man ta'g test methodology... para sa akoa, mao ni ang the "closest that we can get" na data for an "Istorayan set-up" kay dili man ni uber expensive HW like sa CPU, mobo, ram & others na gipang gamit sa mga online review sites... in short, dili man "Boutique set-up"... but its an "On-shelf set-up" kay dali ra paliton sa mga PC shops...

ok, as requested in the discussion posted in the "Show Us Your Rig" thread, had raised the temperature of my room from the standard 25 Deg C (room temperature) to the uber hot 30 Deg C... init gyud kaayo... dry air lang... dili alimo-ot... sakit akoang sinusitis... tsk tsk tsk... mas init pa ni's room ninyo dha sa atoa sa cebu/pinas na wala naka aircon. humid lang nang atoa dha maong mag tulo ang atoang singot. anyway, had made this extreme evaluation for the additional knowledge natong tanan about aning Inno3D GTX 660 Ti iChiLL Dragon Edition.

    Test methodology.
    > raised my room temp from 25 Deg C to 30 Deg C.
    > stabilized it for 3 hrs... from 5:40 pm to 8:40 pm. (The gaming rig was running all the time... since Friday night pa ni after na abot ko diri's balay. wala pawong2x ni sila'ng mga desktops nako basta naa ko dri's balay.)
    > fan speed was manually set to 40%. MSI Afterburner was used in the fan speed tweaking.
    > started the GPUs temp monitoring at idle using GPU-Z. Obervation made after 5 mins (@ idle). took a screen capture for evidence for both GPUs,
    > changed the fan speed to 80%. let is stabilized for 10 mins. Obervation made after 5 mins (@ idle). took a screen capture for evidence for both GPUs
    > run BF3 on Ultra Preset (64 players... Gun Master) and changed back the fan speed to 40%. played for 15 min to pre-condition and stabilize the GPUs.
    > after the 15 mins of pre conditioning, took screen capture shot for evidence.
    > changed the fan speed to 80%... played for 15 mins to precondition both GPUs.
    > took a screen shot after 15 mins of precon and use it as evidence.

Mao ni ang total time na gi consume sa ani na testing...

    Activity Time (mins)
    Room Pre-con @ 30 Deg C 180
    Data @ 40% idle 5
    Pre-con @ 80% idle 10
    Data @ 80% idle 5
    GPU pre-con on BF3 & data @ 40% load 15
    GPU pre-con on BF3 & data @ 80% load 15

    Total time in minutes 230
    Total time in hours 3.83

here are the screen shots for the evidences...

room temperature at 30 Deg C...

    BF3 preset...

GPU 0 at 40% fan speed... idle state...

GPU 1 at 40% fan speed... idle state...

GPU 0 at 80% fan speed... idle state...

GPU 1 at 80% fan speed... idle state...

GPU 0 at 40% fan speed... load state...

GPU 1 at 40% fan speed... load state...

    GPU 0 at 80% fan speed...load state...

    GPU 1 at 80% fan speed...load state...

para ma check if nag work ba correctly ang GPU-Z... had run MSI Kombustor and test the GPUs on "Furry and Tessy Test (GL4)... 8X MSAA... 1920 x 1080 (full screen)... set the GPU fans speed in auto mode during MSI Kombustor testing... test for 30 mins... then took the screen capture shots...

    GPU 0...

    GPU 1...

as you can see... GPU-Z was working fine. the GPUs would be stressed out running this test using Kombustor... the GPUs temps showed increase readings as compared in playing BF3 online (64 players, ultra setting, 1080p and on Gun Master... Closed Quarters ning Gun Master... pinusilay dayon... hehehe

once again, on this test at 30 Deg C room temperature, the iChiLLs have shown their worth... and they show it with "flying colors"... the temp is the same range when playing BF3 at 25 Deg C room temperature...
