[QUOTE=thadzonline;12475969]I facilitate team building programs, and I can relate sa unsa ang imong mga points gi raise regarding team building. But to say nga ang common sa team building is inom ra, I'd say that is a fallacy of logic--hasty generalization. While it is true nga daghan teams often misuse the term team building unya mag-inom ra diay, that is not what team building is although, pwede pod cya mahimong component as a team bonding experience(matud pa sa teamtechnology.co.uk, team building could either be team bonding, addressing team dynamics in small groups, bridging 'team islands', or organizational development).

Para mas makasabot ka unsa ang worth sa team building, you can try to google the term and you will find a goldmine of information on theories related to team building, e.g. Tuckman's Stages in Group Development, Belbin's Team Roles, etc. In fact team building programs can cover a broader range of topics such as conflict resolution and management, leadership, workplace motivation, stress management, etc.

Regarding sa inom, when I do facilitate team building activities, ako gyud na klarohon sa akong clients nga kung mag inom man galing, it should be done after the program is over. That is because if any of the participants drink within the program, it is a safety hazard ug possible pod dili ma optimize ang program. I did this with URC-AIG in 2010, my condition was that when somebody drinks before we are done, maundang ang program(and they will still have to pay me) or di to makaapil og certain activities ang nakainom. They complied. Also in 2010, I was with a team of facilitators for 500++ participants for a furniture company unya naay mga hubog and we asked the company to take them out of the groups in the interest of safety.

Ug dili pod na tinuod nga tanang team building mag-inom sa gabii. Ask Doworth, overnight mi sa Genesis Valley sa Consolacion and no single drop of alcohol was consumed. Nag bonfire mi, and slept at 2 a.m. talking about the company's direction over the bonfire.

I also ask my facilitators nga kuyog that if they are going with me, no alcohol until such time mahuman mi sa evaluation part right after the team building program. They are my responsibility too kung ako ang project lead. Unya ug ako sad facilitator and my participants mag maoy, accountable pod ko sa admin sa venue(hotel, resort, etc). Part of the team building is knowing what your limits are, your responsibilities. It's not about curtailing freedom, but utilizing our freedoms in such a way nga walay matumban or masamok nga lain tawo, its also about sensitivity.

Mao nang I'd say, depende pod na sa facilitators nga magpadagan sa team building programs.

***if you can answer these 2 questions, you can answer your own questions....

    - because the company can....or they WILL allocate money for it....
    - of course not...but they will eventually reach out to the one across/beside him/her...which is most likely his/her teammate....
    - he/she can top on anything....as a team, ma-apil ang team ana kay naa may TEAM STATS pod....which likely, maka-bira sa stats/standing....also, maka-encourage pod siya...."hala, haya-haya niya oh. naka-dawat man ipod"..."ako pod maninguha para dili nako mo-palit..akong stats lang i-improve..."
    - you get bored kung the same lang ang venue...or sa office lang...AND, that really depends sa budget sa company AND ang ma-allocate sa kada tawo kung short ang company budget...and please get back to my 2nd question....you'll know why....

They say familiarity breeds contempt. The advantage of hiring a facilitator to do the team building is because you will have somebody from outside looking in nga dili biased to defend ug unsa ang sayop or kuwang sa inyohang team, and who can point that out without the threat nga inig balik sa opisina kay naa na dayon mga injured relationships.

Team Building "the" Call Center = Inom og Laag2x... Let's not be hypocrites here... Secondary ra ng "Team Building" gyud kuno, ang bottomline gyud dha inom og laag...

Common reasons kuno nga mag Team Building:
    - "Team Building" a.k.a build up camaraderie -->> Maybe it does help but let's be honest, kiat2x ra gyud na para sa kadaghanan...
    - Relax and De-stress -->> Kani, I surely doubt it. Kinsa gud tawn naka relax and de-stress kung mag byahe2x pa mo, mag inum2x unya hangover igka ugma? Yeah, right...
