Yes you are a Mac fanboi because:
- you have nothing but praises for a product that hasn't been even released yet (what we'd like to call a soft launch).
I think the iPhone will bomb because:
- the interface, while fancy and all, brings nothing new to the table. Nokia and the rest of the mobile phone makers have already done it! Why reinvent the wheel? Why enter a market that is already so congested with so many competitors? Why? To impress Apple stockholders, nothing more.
- exclusive touch-screen buttons? Please.. people will always like the feel of tactile buttons. and the LCD screen? How long is that going to last? These types of phones are most likely going to be extremely fragile, and break on impact from such a low-height drop.
- it is gorram expensive?
- it doesn't have 3G? All that moolah ($ 450) for the phone and no 3G? Bleh.
- its going to be exclusive
Don't get me wrong; I believe Apple is a great company. MacOS X is indeed far more secure and reliable than XP (or probably even Vista). Macs always look sexy. They succeeded with the iPod because, while there were portable digital music players available at the time, they were the ones that really innovated (great interface, cool design, etc.), not to mention massive marketing campaigns.
But the iPhone is a desperate attempt to get into a market that really is saturated with so many other competitors. They'll really bomb on this. Like what markyap already pointed out, all the market it is going to get is a secluded "niche" of Mac loyalists and zealots, and other people easily swayed by advertising. The rest of the world won't even know that the iPhone exists.
