I know that it's not only UP's tuition fee increase that is being protested. Most of the runners come from the u-belt, intramuros, españa areas. Would they care about increasing state subsidy of other state univesities and colleges? No, because they're in a private university. Extra judicial killings? Kill all the human rights leaders, journalists, activists, etc. We only cared about Cris Hugo. The walang kamatayang Gloria resign protest? The different issues that are being protested in the oblation run are thought about 10-15 mins. before the run. Go figure why the Gloria resign protest is included.

This is a wrong notion. Neophytes are NEVER allowed to join the oblation run.

    read this darling: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.P._Oblation
On December 14, 2007, 2,000 students and onlookers armed with cameras and cellular phones watched the 30 fraternity members who run naked in the yearly "Oblation run" tradition from Palma Hall at the University of the Philippines campus in Diliman, Quezon City. It was the Alpha Phi Omega (APO) fraternity’s 30th annual Oblation Run. They called for the ouster of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. Other placards denounced her government corruption, protested enforced disappearances, sought more state subsidy for education, and the suspension of tuition increase.
you're an APO? darling, you should know this.
what you stated above is the scenario of the oblation run in UP Manila. are you aware that there are other UP campuses that stage the oblation run? updil, uplb, upv, does it ring a bell?

This is a wrong notion. Neophytes are NEVER allowed to join the oblation run.
have you ever WITNESSED an oblation run?

"Contrary to popular belief, neophytes are forbidden to run." All those who run are full-fledged members who have volunteered" are allowed to run, explains Ojie Santillan, the fraternity's Auxiliary Chancellor. "There is a misconception that the Oblation Run is something our neophytes have to undergo as part of their initiation. That’s not true. We never allow our applicants to join."

this is the stand of APO. i just want to know, how STRICTLY do they implement this?
would you be able to differentiate if a runner is a neophyte or a full-fledged member when he joins the run?

don't you get it? i don't care what their reasons are for doing their stupid tradition. all i know it is stupid and that's my opinion.

even if you will orient me with APO/UP B.S. i still don't care. for me it is plain stupid!

majority of the public don't know their cause and doesn't care. for them the oblation run is hazing of perverse, gay men.

why don't you start orienting the public at freedom park.

i agree with all due respect to other fraternities but particularly in U.P. ang TGP ang pinaka-frontliner. moreover, TGP was formerly known as Order of the U.P. Triskelions. TGP also succeeded in being the marshall of of all warring fraternities during that time.

    More info on TGP, HERE.

You cite wikipedia? What school do you go to anyway?

It's that hard to make a placard huh? Bottomline is that majority of the members who run during the oblation run doesn't care much about the things being protested. Basta makadagan inig oblation.

Di pa gani sila maka handshake, padaganon na nuon ug oblation. The oblation run is a privilege of the members of the fraternity.

Yes, we know who joins the run and from what chapter they come from.

put it rather this way: they can't seem to care on things they protested about coz they are busy attending to themselves running naked!
