timing jud kaayo nakakita ko ani nga thread kay sige pud ko huna-huna lately ug asa ko mokuha ug Mutual Fund kay plano ko mo-invest. Sun Life man unta toy akoang naganahan pero after reading this kay nakadaug man ang PhilAm na hinoon sa akoang huna huna hehehe. I think I'll contact that PhilAm's Unit Manager kay murag syurbol kaayo; mayta siyay personal maka explain naku about Mutual Funds and other options. But I think both Sun Life and PhilAm are good. Its just that naa lang koy nakit-an diri nga credible nga na-refer sa PhilAm.

@nelgraine, if talking about mutual funds sa iya monthly performance... usahay mo -% pa gani na siya.. basta ingon ani na investments pang long term jud ni siya.. Money takes time and interest to grow. ^_^ Ang uban gani is in a year mo -20% or more.. Mao na padaganon nimo siya ug long term haron mo average siya since risky kaayo if kadyot raka magpa tubo..

Also kung 10% per month ang rate... 7.2 months kay mo double na imo money (Compound interest). Use the rule of 72 para mka estimate ka how many years mo double ang money.

As of the moment na ngita ko ug mutual funds na kon mahimo double your money within a year kon naa man gani then ako i evaluate ila history kon consistent bha before ko mo invest...
Kay i am also planning na mag business para mkita nko kon profitable bha sad.
Target nako is mo retire after 5 years.

Kumusta naman ang Philam Life? Stable ra ghapon even though ang AIG is nagkaproblem?

@red4182, dpendi ra na bro if mo double ba in 1 yr. Usahay gani mo double in a month. Pwede sad mo negative in a year. Dili constant ang growth rate sa mga equity stock funds. Pero if imo padaganon long term (20yrs), mo average ug 12% per year ang growth.

Regarding sa fund performance, that means naa mao na ang past performance sa fund company within a specific period. Like for 5 years, pila ang ilang average growth.

@xyberblue, ok ra ghapn ang Philam Life. Still stable kay separate investments ang gi buhat sa Philam kaysa AIG, dili affected ang Philam life sa pinas. And ang US government kay gi supportahan ang AIG so wala sila ma bankrupt.
