NO... its a big NO NO... Programing is more on LOGIC... if your not good in Logic then it will be difficult for you to understand programing or making programs.. This I agree...

kung maayo kag math, daghan magic sa programming imong pwede mahimo. try multiplying two 100-digit numbers in standard c, then extract the square root of that number. no header or libraries involved. plain c ra jud (ansi/iso).

then imagine, kanang compiler nga gigamit, kinsa man naghimo ana? dba programmer? wa diay math apil anang compiler design? automata theory ug compiler design, closely related kaayo nang duha. try asking those students nga nakasulay ana nga subject sa college, dba maka-nosebleed ang math theory behind ana nga subject, bisan unsaon nimo ug logic unya dili enough imong background sa math, lisod siya sabton.

well katong dili maayo ug math, common applications ra sa programming ilang mahimo.

katong mga maayo ug math, nanghimo na ug programming languages, 3d engine sa games, strong cryptographic systems, bisan sa pag-design lang sa network - involved jafon ang math, calculating the shortest path to reach the intended destination (combinatorial optimization).

ang "logic" ani akong istorya, di ka mahimong programming god kung cge ra kag logic. try comparing your "logic" to marin mersenne (1500's), euclid of alexandria (300 BC), or to the babylonians. nag-compute na na sila sa time nga wala pay computer or programming languages.

bisan unsa pa kamaayo sa logic unya dili kabalo ug math, hagbong jafon. kanang MDAS, asa mana gikan? sa "logic" o sa math? rule na siya sa mathematics that "logic" must follow. failure to comply leads to logical errors.

for example, average people usually doesn't know that kind of rule (MDAS) bisan gitudlo pa na sa algebra (1st year/1st sem/algebra 101), that's why kung pangutan-on nimo unsay answer sa 1 + 2 * 3 = 9 ilang i-answer. mao nay gitawag error sa LOGIC tungod kay dili kantigo ug mathematics. testingi ninyo sa inyong mga kaila, ma-amaze mo sa kadaghan masayop ana. how about the square root of negative numbers resulting to imaginary numbers? unsaon man pag-apply ana sa tinuod kinabuhi?

basically, extension ra na sa mathematics ang programming languages.

tinuod sad diay nga kung bogo ug math bogo sad ug programming... daghan mi dire sa NCR...

...programming languages were made for computers, computer comes from the word compute, when we compute it involves mathematics...think what will happen if programmers ahead of us were not good in mathematics what would be the locations of controls(buttons, frames, windows) on our screens?...that just plane trigonometry....

...even database design involves statistics(union, intersections, etc...)

aprub ko ani kay maayo pagka-relate kung unsa ka-importante ang mathematics sa programming.

    Is this true?

all good in math, are good in programming
but not all good in programming are good in math...
IMO, if maayo ug math, most likely maayo jud ug analytical skills, critical thinking, more or less makaexpress sa mga day to day logic into mathematical equivalents. so most probably, maayo pod basta ibutang ug programming. bisag dili jud math graduate, basta mau ug logical, analytical thinking, maayo pd ug programming.

sa 2nd phrase, hmmmm. murag weird pod. if maayo programming, meaning maayo ug logical/analytical skills so if ibutang sa math, most likely muperform well jud. if dili, aw, unsa kaha ang pasabot sa "maayo ug programming"... haha. producing a working code does not guarantee na maayo sa programming. basin copy-paste lng from codeproject (haha).

so para nako, go hand in hand jud ang 2 phrases. hehe.

    Just my point
way boolean ang math? are you sure?

mathematics jafon na ang boolean algebra. it was developed by george boole who was also a mathematician.

Agree, if ur are really good in Math unlimited sab ang imohang Logic sa programming samot na ug sige ka basa ug Programming Books .... ako tinapulan man patabang lang sa google ....

    TRUE
Lahi rajud ang Kabalo ug sa Bright .... katong average programmer limited raman jud ang Logic compare nimo sa above everage nga programmer deep kaau ug logic lisod sabton ....
