In response to the report of the Commission on Audit (COA) regarding Mandaue City's unfinished projects, the city council has allocated funds to finish the Mandaue City Hospital annex building and the JO Martinez road.

Councilor Wenceslao Gakit told Cebu Daily News that the funds for the two projects were included in the city's P56.97 million supplemental budget, which the council approved on August 17.

Out of the P56.97 million allocation, P1.14 million was set aside for the hospital's annex building.

Some P14,710 was earmarked from the 20 percent development fund to finish the JO Martinez road, which only required structural improvements.

The council appropriated P5.9 million in the supplemental budget for the Mandaue City Hospital.

Another P358,000 was earmarked for fence painting and hospital expenditures such as electricity, water bills, among others.

The rest of the P24.19 million from the 20 percent development fund were allocated for: the purchase of a lot for the opening of road in Barangay Tabok - P16 million; the Urban Greening Project - P4.6 million; a community-based monitoring project - P2.2 million; an early child care development program (city counterpart) - P870,515; and the purchase of a clock tower for the ASEAN countdown - P508,000.
