sorry guys but those are such a stupid and shallow-minded remarks. if not ignorant. FYI, if you know what an "accomplishment report" means, it tells you a lot. this myt seem harsh but it is the truth...

Cultural festivals have a purpose just like our own Sinulog. Promoting local tourism has a purpose too. in fact, it is one of the strengths our Provinces can offer to the world.

and if did not make you happy, well, sorry to say this but it made all the towns people happy.

and how many times should I stress that one should know first the Province's accomplishment reports before one even begin to complain of something?

ky wala diay gilihok sa Province ang basic needs like food, shelter, health, and jobs? I don't mean directly ha ky ang Province baya is not a job placement agency nor a social welfare office.

Teach one to fish, not give fish...

    Gullas: Bolo should resign
Cebu Daily News First Posted 10:44:00 09/09/2009

The controversy hounding Board Member Juan Bolo following the Balili land purchase fiasco should be enough to convince him to resign from his post.

But Rep. Eduardo Gullas of Cebu’s 1st district stopped short at calling for Bolo’s resignation.

“If I were Board Member Juan Bolo, I will not only resign as committee head, but also as a member of the Provincial Board,” said Gullas.

“I'm not asking Bolo to resign but it's up to him,” said Gullas, who supported Bolo in 2007 elections.

Gullas said Bolo's resignation would be an “honorable thing” to do.

i mean, cmon, i was even appalled by the fact that Capitol even had the guts to enter into the bidding process for the SRP lots when in fact, they completely do not have the necesseary qualifications and experience to accomplish a project of that magnitude.

and dont even bother telling me na they had every right to do so and that we are in a democratic country blah blah...coz for me, their intentions was as clear as day. in my eyes, they just made themselves a laughing stock.

kay if only walay sagabal dha in getting those lots titled and sold, the city wouldnt even need to use taxpayers' money to pay the debt. the sale of the lot would have been more than enough to pay for the loan..plus, it would have created a multiplier effect that only gwen could have dreamed of for the CICC!

Cebu INTERNATIONAL Convention Center? oh please! for that quality..or to be precise, lack thereof, it is utterly far from reaching international standards. i just hope you are not too blind to see the substadard quality of the workmanship of the CICC. or much worse, you are already satisfied with its workmanship..and is truly proud to call that...umm...abomination of architecture..and cebu international convention center.
first of all, the FLI deal was not only found to be anomalous by Capitol but also from other concerned Cebuanos as well. why do u think up to this day Tomas did not divulge the FLI transactions to the people? what is he afraid of?

second, do not come to conclude that Capitol's joint venture doesn't qualify or experience to accomplish a project of that magnitude. why do u think we have the Asiatown IT Park now or the Cebu Business Park? isn't that experience enough for you? besides, the case is still pending. we can only say they are not qualified if the courts will have their final say. meanwhile, what we can only do is hold our horses.

besides, we cannot deny that there is an existing feud between Gwen and Tomas. don't blame it only to her. how about the other party?

if there is somebody to be blamed for the SRP's failure to develop in time, then that is Tomas and the City Council themselves! coz if we say otherwise, then i can only say nadala rka sa nukus2x ni Tomas!

how do u know that the CICC lacks the standard quality? by your own two eyes? mata mata lang. no wonder maayo mo pakungon ni Tomas. basin ngpa opaw sab ka ha...don't u even know how the term "maintenance" came to being?

I know that the CICC from an ocular view can be perceived as not something of good workmanship. But how can we justify saying it is overpriced or not at par w/ standards by only libat libat lang sa mata?

mao nay akong giingon ba, some people just talk a lot without sense at all, drowned out by their biases and prejudices. Simply put, non-sense.

that titled lot u r talking about is another lot that Tomas declined to buy, and not the Balili lots...get ur facts straight.

The Province bought the Balili lots at P400 per sqm. 38M something has to be refunded by the Balilis coz it was found out some portions are submerged in water.

i don't know why we get such non-sense opinions from people like you. now, u r accusing me nga itoy ni gwen? how quality can statements get nowadays huh?

beggars are not all from Cebu Province. kasagaran ana nila badjao sa Bohol or asa pang lugara. and why blame the Province if Cebu City has a lot of beggars? u mean to say we should also blame Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Batangas, Pampanga, Cordillera and all those North Luzon Provinces because Metro Manila has many beggars too? toinks!

sidewalk vendors are not all from Cebu Province. in fact, some are even lumad taga Cebu City. and u cannot call Carbon vendors as sidewalk vendors. yes, most came from the Province but they are only there to sell their wares they grew & harvested in the Provinces. mura manag discrimination imo bro u r implying. abi ky sidewalk vendor ra, look down na kau ka ani nila? they don't deserve to be here in the City?

theft and robbery cases? Probincya na diay ron imong pasanginlan ron? how about blaming Tomas for starters? if im not mistaken, Mandaue City has much lower crime compared to Cebu City...

I like the way tomy runs the city as a city mayor. he is strict in impletmentng rules.even if its not popular. to mayor tomy after you finsh your term as a mayor please do consider running for governor so you could also served cebu probinsyanos..

an arrogant and pala-away nga mayor cannot justify him being a good mayor. well, admittedly I like some of his style but not all...

question is, when did u visit it? i cannot do that request by myself. unsa ra gud tawn ko, a lowly private citizen. I am not in the position to do that. besides, I don't have any connections w/ Capitol. what if we make a signature campaign to raise this issue perhaps? or perhaps naay politiko nato dre sa istorya nga mkahatag ni Gwen ug heads up?

when I visited the CICC a few days before the "One Cebu" exhibit last Aug, naay daghan panday ga repair sa CICC. I also visited the exhibit dates mismo, and even with the rains, I didn't notice any leaks. what exact function hall r u talking about? the plenary hall?

governors and mayors will come and go, but it is the responsibility of the citizenry to take concern of what is already there. Gwen being a governor will pass, but the CICC will stay there for more governors to come.

sir, you are trying to imply that that is the only possibility available. and u r even pretty sure of that. well, while I respect ur opinion, there are some other possibilities that could have happened you know.

    let me cite:
Possibility no. 1 - posible wala kahibaw c Gwen pero kahibaw c Bolo.
Possibility no. 2 - posible wala kahibaw c Bolo ug Gwen.
Possibility no. 3 - posible kahibaw c Bolo ug c Gwen (ur only sure possibility)

and just because a person is powerful and intelligent doesn't mean he/she can't err. otherwise, that's tantamount to a logical fallacy.

why? let me cite some few examples: Gloria erred when he called Garci and signed the MOA-AD. Clinton erred when he had *** w/ an intern. Alvin erred when he was duped by Badana getting away w/ payroll money. Tomas even erred when he included Talisay in his SRP. Those are pretty huge mistakes/errors you know...

Perhaps it is simply a strategy of his so that people will be more sympathetic to his pithey defenses of them.
hahaha. u don't know me at all. do u really think that they are mostly "thinking" istoryans?

sa tinuod bay, I don't wanna unta defend anybody here. but looking at the posts nga murag gitabangan ug murag hapit na ninyo gi assassinate ang tawo sa iyang character, aw dili nana maayo...suma, did i not defend Mike Rama pud in the other thread?

what did these people do to offend you or make you hate them? if u see them as arrogant, why focus only on them nga naa may mas arrogante pa nila in the form of Tomas? if u see Gwen as igat, why nga naa may mas igat niya in the form of Sonny O?

if u say walay nabuhat, why nga naa man gyuy nabuhat? if u come to think of it, some posters are even complaining walay projects sa Province in terms of health, livelihood, education, etc. so meaning, they are even too lazy to research but instead complain on something that they think that is not there.

is this forum surrounded by Tomas fans that all they are blinded to see is Tomas the savior and Gwen the witch?

don't get me wrong @raski. I am not appealing to sympathy for the Garcias. what I am appealing is appeal to reason, responsibility and justice to what we are saying.

how can that make us better Cebuanos if that is our (divisive) mentality? how can that make us better Cebuanos if we think men are above women and not treated equally in terms of leadership and opportunities? how can that make us better Cebuanos if we give in and drowned by our biases and prejudices?

    anyways, back to the topic...
