here's the pic I took of the 3 musketeers being interviewed by a local tv station here in Dallas about two hours before tip-off in game 1... and there were lotsa fans in heavy body paint the whole playoffs. FYI, fans with body paint can enter the AAC during Mavs game for free during regular season but are situated in SRO's in the upper bowl. it's a different story in the playoffs and finals where Mavs management resort to somewhat like a lottery 'coz hundreds of these fans come in droves and there ain't no space for them anymore.

Detroit lost steam in the playoffs. they played lethargic with their 6 man rotation. they had too much ego defending Shaq one-on-one knowing full well that the Big Diesel can punish whoever guards him that way. on that note, the Mavs respect Shaq's game too much that they double, sometimes triple team him on his first dribble. the result: 5 points.. let me repeat that.. 5 points. that never happened in Shaq's career and maybe he'll get back with a vengeance in the games in Miami. but I think the Mavs can handle whatever Pat Riley could offer.

I thought regular season games don't matter in the playoffs.. a lot of people are wrong. those games were played like game 2 with the Mavs winning 17 and 36 pt leads on both those games. same type of defense on Shaq and Wade on the latter game and the same exact story with their supporting cast failing to contribute when it mattered.

Shaq was benched almost the whole 2nd half though... He wasn't doing anything offensively .. he also had limited touches, good defense on Mavs' part. Riley got out-coached.... Heat got outplayed and outclassed... they looked like fumbling rookies.

AJ did what was expected, "run the hell out of Shaq" making him exit to the bench almost the whole second half. the Mavs' defense on the Big Diesel was getting better and better compared to their previous games but one thing remained the same: Shaq and Wade didn't get the support they needed from their role players. that's a very glaring fact and expect AJ to take advantage of that by continually double / triple teaming Shaq. no Shaq on the floor means greater expectations on the Miami bench to pick up the slack and your guess is as good as mine: AJ would love that idea.
