yup... it doesn't matter who or what you believe in, what matters is if what you believe in is relevant to everyday life or not. In the case of religion it's irrelevant for me now.
believe in the oneness!![]()
you are right... but kindly read the upper part of my previous message(before this one)...
im curious about his faith...
so, if he doesnt believe in God or satan...
maybe there is someone or something that he believes in...
maybe his mom or just himself...
or maybe he has faith on science... im cool to that... i love science...
there's a HUGE DIFFERENCE. di mo ba ma gets?
how can I believe in something that is not even PROVEN to exist. im wallowing in DISBELIEF regarding your so called god/s.
ano ka ba?ha.common sense bro, you know who im talking about... we are in a spirituality section... not your other friend named jesus but the Jesus that died in the cross 2000 years ago and raised 3 days after...
SPECIFY nga sabi ko. is it jesus the MAN? the HYPE? or the jewish carpenter zombie?
by the looks of the underlined phrase, you're referring to the jewish carpenter zombie...I dont buy that CHISMIS. he may be an exceptional MAN...but his DIVINITY, is highly questionable.
my faith? to WHOM?i didnt say its you... some of them are my friends actually... im just curious not about your accnt name but your faith...
to whom do you believe?
to your GOD...wala.(here's the irony, if god/s is/are just a natural thing, EXISTING....you wont need FAITH then would you)
dont get me wrong, i do have FAITH on my fellowmen. my loved ones and others. but there are just things I cant take at face value. specially to an unseen thing who claims to be an OMNIMAX.
if you tell me to JUST BELIEVE or BELIEVE FIRST
i'd say no way...same reason if somebody or a suspicious text message claims you won a MILLION wawartz...would you JUST BELIEVE or BELIEVE FIRST??
some would....not me.
Ahh, dude wat i can say based on your replies is that your an Atheist. And i have only a few question for you, what happens when you die? and what are your life's purpose and meaning? if you don't believe in God or Buddha or Allah or the Tao, then what is your purpose and meaning in your life? just to work and die?
got this from a filipino artist song..
"Ang lahat ng bagay ay magka-ugnay, magka-ugnay ang lahat.."
Yeah, it would've been good if every lyric sa "Imagine" ni John Lennon can come to pass but I'm afraid we'd be long dead/gone by then.I mean look at what happened to John Lennon himself!
They say we're dreamers. We still are. All this "Imagine" stuff is just wishful thinking. I don't know with you pero whenever I hear John Lennon's songs - his voice just makes me feel 'high' like I've just taken drugs or something. He has that 'ethereal' effect on some people including me.
Well, back on topic: it's impossible to live without religion since it's all a matter of faith in some thing or some one. Civilization has existed for over a millenia and even back then simple phenomena such as friendship, love and marriage all exist as a matter of faith/belief in his fellow man and ultimately it leads to a synthesis - a faith/belief in something higher or greater than their state of being. Call it a virtue that helps create the system of what eventually evolves into a faith system or a religion. Atheists might debunk all of these stuff but in the end, when they die they start being sentimental about their lives. And that is how they see the world and their lives in a different light. They tend to realize that a supreme being is responsible for every thing in this planet (though they won't admit it outright). In a sense, they've already started to believe in a god which progresses to believing in a religion. I may be wrong but all these stuff I've written is based on experience. Most people here in the States start out as atheists or become atheists in some stage of their lives but become religious just before they pass away. Go figure.
I'm not a good practitioner of my faith but I certainly strive to keep to its traditions and live by the words preached to me every weekend. I know that I could do well without these words since most of them can be obtained through experience - experience which I still need to gain at some level in my existence. It's just that when I attend a religious service, it somehow helps me with life when I happen to be up against a wall from time to time. You can call it an escape route but I call it a lifeline.
Very interesting thread, NASYO. It actually got me to sit down and type out stuff for more than ten minutes. Thanks and Merry Christmas to everyone there.
you're welcome sir
a certain shade, Yes.
I DECOMPOSE. its either a comfy grave or a canister/urn for my ash.And i have only a few question for you, what happens when you die?
there is no absolute meaning for LIFE. so life's meaning is what it means to you.and what are your life's purpose and meaning?
for me, we make our own meaning by the way we live, experiences, and everything in between.
in hindsight, we get born...we procreate...we die. to keep the species alive. everything else is just to make it interesting.
is having a GOD/s a pre-requisite for a meaningful life? NOT AT ALL.if you don't believe in God or Buddha or Allah or the Tao, then what is your purpose and meaning in your life?just to work and die?
besides, its about the journey...not the destination.
some people spend most of their time PREPARING for this "afterlife"...propping up, buying the stairway to heaven-ish. well buhay nila yun. to each his own. but if you tell me that is the ONLY way, i'd say: bite me.

of course, ALL of us were born atheists y'know.hahahaMost people here in the States start out as atheists or become atheists in some stage of their lives but become religious just before they pass away. Go figure.
do put into consideration...some devout/religious faithfuls end up with atheism. Go figure.
