existing m16a1 used by the pnp and the military is made in the philippines (made under license from colt usa) sayang the project wasn't sustained. we're hopeful that the current leadership of the government arsenal will be able to bring back such capability.

This is what i like sa current leadership sa GA, Gen. Martir kay known innovator... Even while naa pa siya sa Phil. Marines...
He is the one who instructed to refurbished the last 4 remaining LVTH sa marines using scrap parts, and also the MSSR (Marine Scout Sniper Rifle) and the modified Grease Gun... There is a documentary about this sa GMA-7...

The Philippine Navy (PN) is set to receive six riverine patrol boats (RPBs) from the United States in August under a US Navy (USN) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) contract.
Silver Ships riverine patrol boat (RPB) is on trial in the United States.
According to an official at manufacturer Silver Ships, a contract was signed with the USN in September 2011 and the boats were completed a year later. However, delivery was delayed until early May this year due to "non-availability of marine transport".
