    Hi All,

I'm newbie to tarantulas, my close friend just bought me a sling chaco golden knee today, size around less than an inch. I just think that it will be a nice idea to subscribe to this thread. ^_^

I have no idea how old the sling is and I don't know what will I feed it. I'm planning to transfer it to a transparent jar and since this is new I don't think it will eat, so I'll just take the chance to transfer it to a better jar. I have read a lot article about T's but it is still best to talk to experts ^_^. what would be a best set up for this?

here is a shoot from my facebook account:

    Thanks ^_^

the best way to take care for a sling is to read more about its care sheet, first thing you should know is how many instar does your sling been into, instar means by the way is the number of molt it has been shed on your care...the molt will determine its gender and as it grows and will be visble enough to determines its gender..as a sling you should know at first after it has been given to you if it is already on eating stage or have asked your friend if it is already on eating stage..mainly their diet compose of cricket, lats, dubia or worms..you can find all of these things on our local petshop or you can buy these things from other sellers here in ISTORYA..many are selling from nymphs to adult depending on the size of your tarantula to be fed..another factor in taking care of a sling is its habitat,as a sling it is still okay to put it in a small delicup because it doesnt require to much space...humidity is also an important factor on taking care of a sling because every tarantula vary on different environmet and you should always know that they have different humidity on which place they have come from..some likes to have their soil bedding or substrate to be dry or wet..you will fimd all these things upon reading on its caresheet..chaco golden knee or grammostolla pulchripes are hardy tarantulas and are good beginner t's and would not be a problem to a beginner like you..i hope this will help you..feel free to ask and will gladly answer your question happy inverts keeping

    yay! thanks for the reply.

But as of now i do not know the number of molt it had been and I have no idea weather it already eat or not. I have read its care sheet and its good to know that this kind is good for us newbie. On my hand here is just a container with substrate from the pet store it came, first thing tomorrow to be done is to go to pet store and buy its new home, should I try to feed it to know weather it is hungry?
