Precisely what crime would you charge to the parents? For being poor? for being not able to provide the child with 100 pesos because of their meager income?

We do have a crime in our penal laws as "Assisting in Committing Suicide". The question is did the parents assist the child in tying a rope around her neck? Is it the desire of the parents for their child to die like that? They even loaned the salary because they want to give it to her. And now you want them charged for their poverty?

Maybe it was chronic depression brought about by extreme poverty. We all go back to the cause of the depression. Poverty.

This suicide will long be forgotten in time and nothing will change, it will just go down as another wasted life and future (for the 12 year old girl). Poverty and too much politics will continue.

the phils is still one of many countries having a large % of the population below the threshold of poverty. so meaning, "poverty" dayon ang makit-an or perceived when it comes to crime, prostitution, or tragic deaths. Sa U.S. laysho man, kng mag suicide, doing crime, or prostitution...depression, psychological or family problems man dayon ang issue. Sa Japan, kng mag suicide, business bancruptcy issue man...hehe

We cannot compare the emotions of individuals. Everyone have a different thresholds. One man's ability to handle a problem may differ from the other. So I guess Manette Ampers handling of the pressure was not as strong and as resilient as the others.

Again lapses on the investigation on the part of the PNP because they are closing a case without looking for possible angles.maybe too many of these cases are not given the right jutice.If this girl commited suicide because she was raped,then this must be bigger concern for the govt.to safeguard the welfare and protection of children not only from poverty but against abused.
