Aha, this means you don't believe in spirits then... I wonder why you keep on arguing god is a spirit and you can talk to him. Get your answers from god because he is but a spirit.Originally Posted by rcruman

I think you need to read it with open mind, I believed in spirits but God prohibit to communicate with spirits. And God didn't say that we should not communicate with Him but GOd prohibited to communicate with spirits meaning He is exempted, get the point?Originally Posted by Sinyalan

Saul and the Witch of Endor
...
3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah. Saul had expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land.
4 The Philistines assembled and came and set up camp at Shunem, while Saul gathered all the Israelites and set up camp at Gilboa. 5 When Saul saw the Philistine army, he was afraid; terror filled his heart. 6 He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets. 7 Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her."
"There is one in Endor," they said.
8 So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. "Consult a spirit for me," he said, "and bring up for me the one I name."
9 But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?"
10 Saul swore to her by the LORD, "As surely as the LORD lives, you will not be punished for this."
11 Then the woman asked, "Whom shall I bring up for you?"
      "Bring up Samuel," he said.
12 When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, "Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!"
13 The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. What do you see?"
The woman said, "I see a spirit coming up out of the ground."
14 "What does he look like?" he asked.
"An old man wearing a robe is coming up," she said.
Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.
15 Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?"
"I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."
16 Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and become your enemy? 17 The LORD has done what he predicted through me. The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and given it to one of your neighbors—to David. 18 Because you did not obey the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the LORD has done this to you today. 19 The LORD will hand over both Israel and you to the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The LORD will also hand over the army of Israel to the Philistines."
20 Immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, filled with fear because of Samuel's words. His strength was gone, for he had eaten nothing all that day and night.

When we communicate spirits, we don't play like Gods / gods but we maximize the innate abilities or gifts. It's similar when you say that you have a nice voice and that is your gift.
Quoting back to my previous post:
I know it is always a question comparing religion from paranormal phenomena. I see no conflict between the two. All religions, whether Islam, Hinduism or Christianity have some connections with paranormal phenomenon (supernatural or divine being).
I know this is a big deal for discussion. I think the problem especially by Christians (including your group) is the assumption that everything that is paranormal or supernatural must come from the dark side. That is not true. You cannot judge a person with psychic abilities as evil.
In the bible, even Jesus Christ performed so many paranormal wonders, like when he read people’s minds, walked on the water, changed water into wine, revived the dead and healed the sick. Calling them miracles does not change their paranormal nature. Yes, I believe in miracles. I believe in angels and even demons. Comparing religion from paranormal phenomena is similar if you ask how science fit in with the mystical and paranormal, or compare science from religion.
When I was a kid, I asked our Religion teacher to explain The Book of Genesis from Science that everything in the universe comes from an atom. Simply put, true science cannot be in conflict with religion and are considered outside the scope of paranormal phenomena.
My study and research on Paranormal Phenomena leads me to understand and accept that the living are affected by the spirits, and spirits are also affected by the living.
For the record, we already handled cases on Paranormal Investigation with some of our clients here in Cebu City. When a person dies because of accident, sickness his / her consciousness is still here on earth. If he / she has unfinished business, his / her spirit can be seen by sensitive individuals we call Psychics or people with “Third Eye”.
The dead will be affected by the affairs and thoughts of their loved ones they left behind. We have a case like this in one of our friends outside the circle. That is why it is wrong to mourn too much the passing of a person. It keeps the dead from moving towards the Light or to the higher realms of the spirit world. Yes, prayers help the spirits of the dead.
The reason also why others are scared about this subject is because of how TV programs and movies depict the mystical and paranormal. Instead to educate the public, they scare them showing horror movies, capped by an excruciating climactic scene that brings us back to Jason and Freedy.
I’m sure you’ve seen the movies the “Sixth Sense” and “Ghosts” starring Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze - these are some movies that are well researched about paranormal.
The problem in our country (Philippines) is people associated psychic with a person able to tell the future. This is wrong. There are many forms or types of psychic abilities such as telepathy (you can save text mesg from this LOL), telekinesis and clairvoyance. There are also people who can do remote viewing, empath but cannot tell the future. They are all psychics. I know and I’m aware that some people are better at it than others. They should not consider us above the rest or like God because we are just trying to maximize the potential of “Becoming Human.”
Everybody is a psychic because the word psychic comes from the Greek word “psyche” meaning mind or soul. I understand that some people are afraid of the unknown and there was even a mom who freaked out in front of us. It is hard to talk to a person who is close-minded (example like you). My grandma who is a healer and knows graphology (reading penmanship) advised me never to change my religion. Just acknowledge my gift.
We all have psychic ability. No on can say he does not have any. Some participants during our workshop develop or surprised during their first hand experience.
With these human abilities, it is wrong to pursue power but use this as a stepping-stone toward a higher purpose, self-development and to share with others or even for some entertainment (kidding).
The conflict or the long debate by others about Religion, Science and Paranormal Phenomena is a question of definition.
So there you go. Sharing my thoughts about this matter is for intellectual discussion only and should not be considered as a debate.

"Meduimship shouldn't be about entertainment. It's about having the opportunity to give people some peace of mind." - Gordon Smith, Britain's famous psychic
