I think some people really missed the point here or they just miss read, or mis judge the topic. Again the i think there are lots of you who really got the point and give us theier very good point of view about the politics as a whole.

This thread is obviously not only about the elite members of the Philipines, is it? So, there are some people in this thread ask a very stupid question. Like, OK NAME A COUNTRY THAT IS NOT RUN BY ELITES ? I dont want to debate about this . As far as i know, and in my opinion it is a stupid question !

A Forum my friends is not a courtroom where someone will be kick in the ass if you dont answer well according to your taste. That is why i really recommend research first before typing whats in your mind.

Gen. Almonte is not stupid right? the book he is writing is very revolutionary, and educational and because of that thats why i said read it, or do a research about it.

It is evident that in the natural world there is an order to things, particularly when it comes to social groups, like packs or herds. It is seen that one or few can dominate many~ and it evolved to the present as a parent can dictate the actions of offspring or a company president direct the company workforce to a particular goal.

Whether the Philippines is run by elites is subject to debate depending on one's interpretation. As for me, elite are people too and being people, they can exert influence on others and on their environment. It what people do~

And anybody can be "elite" in a particular field, its just doing what one can do and being the best at it.

A thread author should be cordial to all contributors notwithstanding their dissenting opinions. He/she should be ready to clarify and elaborate on his/her postulation with aplomb and equanimity.

I've read this thread several times over and somehow I must say in the ongoing "repartee" I still held some composure and observed forum rules, albeit it was close to breaking them.

One last thing moderntribe - Guess what, the whole world is run by Elites. I hope you're not shocked by this too.

gen. almonte is entitiled to his opinion, as i am too and everyone else in this thread. we have different understanding on the topic here. By common definition an elite would mean rich people. In my own STUPID understanding, as moderntribe have referred to it, elites are the ones who are influential enough to turn the outcomes of our economy. they are the ones backing and financing our politicians in winning the elections. they are the ones who are powerful enough to manipulate everything. even the outcome of the president and many public officials.

i adhere to "sovereignty resides with the people and all government authorities emanate from them" but try to look around. aren't we a capitalist nation, we depend greatly on investors and big time businessman from lucio tan to cojuangco.

unless a country is communist or socialist, thus one could only consider it to be run completely by the proletariats. Oh Thou Marxist dream!

Now then, which country is not greatly influenced with investors, elites, businessman..? america? italy? great britain? japan?
