hey barton's are ready for OC na
Well the brown bartons were ore overclockable, the green colored ones.. hmmm overclockable gihapon through FSB pero not as overclockable as the brown pne gyud<Thanks to Crahsburn for updating me about this>
So you can unlock Bartons week 40 and up?
How about L2 mod on the Applebred?
Can't trust my eyes no more. I might complicate things.![]()
can i overclock my celeron 1.8ghz...i really dont hav an idea on this..tnks.
@hplar: yes you can... as long as your board allows you to change the processor's fsb. dili ta pwede anang multiplier kay locked na (unless you have an engineering sample) unlike the amd processors...
blade4638..my board is asus p4s5333 mx..unsa may bantayan kng mag overclock ka..para dli masunog...u..tnks by the way..
@hplar: for oc-ing, just watch the ff (general ni siya bro):
- processor temperature (a p4 can go as high as 75degC, pero as much as possible, keep your temps far lower than that);
- speed at which other parts of the system run as a result of increasing the fsb esp kung dili nimo ma-set separately (e.g. ram speed, pci and agp bus speed); for pci/agp, try to keep them at their standard speed
- overall stability of your system at its new speed; use various burn-in/cpu stress programs to do this (ga-baha ani sa net)
- sometimes, esp kung so-so imong psu, the voltage output at the 5, 12, and 3.3v (as well as your proc core voltage readings) will drop once you push your system to its limits; monitor these readings using motherboard monitor (free sad ni sa net); as much as possible, actual readings should be within 5% of the voltages. if you already spent on oc-friendly parts (e.g. ram, hsf, mem heatspreaders, etc.), don't skimp on your psu (i'd suggest getting psus with high current ratings sa 5, 12, and 3.3 voltage rails - the higher the better, pero the more expensive it becomes)
- temp inside your case (if you run your system with either side panels removed, never mind); remember, the temps of the components will never be colder than the temp inside your case; just make sure airflow in your case is good (amount of air in = amount of air out)
** the p4 will never get burned by overclocking. naa man gud ni siya feature called throttling (kung mu-taas ang temp niya beyond a certain threshold, the proc will operate at a slower speed automatically)
good luck! c",)
