i really don't know if rich dad did exist or not but im telling u this as far as i know bout kiyosaki.

1.) kiyosaki became rich by using the principles of real estate to his advantage, he build his business on real estate until he became a millionaire. last time i checked he was still a millionaire not a billionaire.

2.) rich dad poor dad was a support product for the actual product of r. kiyosaki (which is the board game cashflow). it was so long that they decided to make it a book. therefore the boardgame was patented first than the book rich dad poor dad.

3.) rich dad didn't want to be involved in robert's undertakings (which by that time the book rich dad poor dad), when kiyosaki went to rich dad bout publishing it. rich dad didn't want to be mentioned that's why he is always called rich dad (no specifcs).

4.) if you really go down to his level he is following the principle of It is better to GIVE than to RECEIVE. he was giving a lot more than the worth of the book and in return he received a lot of money bout it. the lessons you will learn on the book is much more priceless than it is being sold (say ex. that money is not real but it is made up) where can u get to learn principles like these?And mind you he is not only giving/selling it to me or to you or to anybody. he reaching to as many people as he can.these days people tend to stick to the idea that we should receive first before we give.that's why most people have a lot of money problems.

Was rich dad a fictional character? i don't think so ms.beau

@quarks: I appreciate your outlining your thoughts. you really are a kiyosaki fan.

I consider myself one of his avid readers also, though I haven't read ALL of his books. But yes, I get his life story and his priniciples. I forgot to mention that It was Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Rich Dad's Guide To Investing that got me really interested in crossing quadrants. :mrgreen:

Now, because I'm very much interested in Kiyosaki, I did research on him. I found this critique by John T. Reed on the net which mentions, among others, the questionable existence of Rich Dad. At that time I couldn't find any solid counter from the Kiyosaki camp or Kiyosaki himself, so yeah I got disappointed.

Just today, however, when I checked again, I found that counter. (I don't know why I didn't find this before). Kiyosaki maintains Rich Dad is a true person.

Well, at least now I have two sides to consider. I agree with all of Kiyosaki's ideas, and I would also hope for transparency and credibility. So I hope I woudn't be disappointed anymore. :mrgreen:

@ms.beau:i haven't read j. reeds review till now.he seemed to raise a lot of points in his review and i find it really interesting at first, but came to realize he was a shallow critique. It's always been the same case over and over. We can never please everyone. But it's always nice to know that critcs are still there because we can learn a lot from them. Ultimately it all boils down to one lesson bout money. Only you has the power to make yourself rich and to make yourself poor.

well we really dont know if he got rich following his principles from his books.
but i do beliv in him and his principles, those principles changed my life and im very greateful that he wrote those books.
i dont think Donald Trump would make a book with him if he isn't any good.
Rich dad real or not real? .......... its real enough for me
