Follow the law of the land. Molesters violated the law, so they have to be penalized (legally).

Why would the Church even address this issue in ANY way?? If they had a priest who has allegedly molested someone, let the legal system address the issue!! No need for them to be caring or healing. They just need to stay out of the way. Any more than that, yeah, that's protecting them molesters!!

Again, choosing the "least worst" isn't the same as endorsing a preferred candidate for the Papacy.

Though, I am willing to admit that my "priest molesters protector" (or something to that effect) jab is way out of line on my part, I'm still opposed to his statements. If he truly wants transparency, he should get out of the way.

I apologize for my baseless, inaccurate and crass comments on Tagle. After a brief research, I can submit that he indeed could be part of the Church's solution.

But I still do not agree with his statements. Why would he even say that legal action adds to the pain to the accused? It's a given!!
Is he trying to tell us not to expose the accused to legal action or media attention because we add to their pain?? He should have just said nothing on that light.
But there is truth that media attention and legal action can add to their pain. Imagine going to court and recalling all the things that happened to you. Every single detail has to be recalled and said to everyone inside the court with the accuser. Plus, we cannot avoid the media getting information out which would only make it even worst for the victims. The social stigma when from the community. Daghan kaayo diri na i chismis dayon ng mga rape victims. So he was right to say that it will add to the pain. But not to take legal action? I don't think that was his message.
The problem with *** abuse cases especially if it's high profile is that the media sensationalize it to the point that victims lose his/her privacy.

It's just hypocritical that when there are political and socio- economical matters of the State, the Church and their leaders immediately attack those who oppose them and label them as "Team Patay" (an example). Doesn't that add to the pain of our government leaders who only showed support to a bill they thought was right??

“How can we defeat it? By being innocent like Jesus… which means that you don’t plan anything that will hurt others,” he said

Why didn't they issue an apology to those labelled as Team Patay? Why can't his colleagues be "innocent like Jesus"? Why did they plan something that will definitely hurt others??

Wa man na nag lihay. Ang topic diri about kang Tagle and tinuod na wala siya labot anang sa team patay. Kanang gi buhat sa Bacolod kay ila na na decision. They have their own identity. Other diocese also have banners but lahi sad ila. List ra sa candidates. Anyway, OT na ning Team Patay diri, ma piti ta sa mods. Back to Tagle.

The discussion now is being swayed away to the actual core of why this thread existed .

If you guys want to talk about RH BILL , TEAM PATAY etc .... ther eis an appropriate thread for that .

Other than that , prove here thru dicussion that CARDINAL TAGLE cuddles and protects the ALLEGED ABUSERS by blocking AUTHORITIES of both LEGAL and LAW ENFORCEMENT in pursuing cases and investigation .

Of course it adds to the pain of the accuser. But we are not talking about that. We are talking about the ACCUSED!

That's why the Church does not want media attention. They may not always be the best people to look for the truth but at least they can put pressure on the authorities to pursue the truth. And they claim that they just want to protect the accusers! Get real! They want to protect their asses!

If they truly care for the abused, they should teach their priests not to play with other people's genitals!

The church has a moral obligation. If it violates the Church doctrine then the Church has to do something. Anyway, nice discussion but I have to go somewhere. I shall continue later. God bless!

    @ REDEMPTION ...

Your point only relates to as one sided and bias outlook . You will end up being a STEREOTYPE in that approach .

Dont make it look like the RCC does not take care of the abuse allegedly thrown at the victims . Isnt it so ironic ? We have ALLEGED MOLESTERS but we do have VICTIMS ... should it be ALLEGED VICTIMS too ?

If the media is not the best people to look for then why settle for less ? Do you really think that because kintahay gi hilom ni sa media .... no INVESTIGATION was going on and JUSTICE is not served ? Dont make the media a scapegoat for the excuse of how lame the justice system is when the church are the ones involved.

Their moral obligation is only to DO THE RIGHT THING. Something they have not done countless of times!

Nice discussion with you as well. Looking forward to continue tomorrow. Will be flying back to Cebu tonight. God bless!
