Here are some 'end of the world as we know it' that's happening right now.

-The NDAA which "allows the military to indefinitely detain without trial American terrorism suspects arrested on US soil who could then be shipped to Guantánamo Bay." What is the world that we know today? You go to a trial first before going to prison. Why is it the end of the world as we know it? I have just mentioned that. Americans will be indefinitely detained without trial if they are suspected terrorists. One can think that NDAA is like a formal Marshall Law in the US.

-Tension in the Middle East which is affecting oil prices here in the Phils and could get worse in the next few days or weeks maybe months. What is the world as we know it? We know how much the minimum fare is and it will be the end of the world as we know it if the minimum fare has become 10 pesos (which most transport groups are asking, no, demanding.)

-SOPA/PIPA which is like a Cyber version of the NDAA. What is the world as we know it today? You can share/download things from the internet. Why is it the end of the world as we know it? Go search around for files that you used to download from the internet or check out the some of your favorite sites which most of them are either deleting the uploaded files and is being closed down or is already shut down. And BTW, I have a feeling that YouTube will soon go down as well.. Imagine a world without your favorite file sharing sites and youtube.. Those, my friends, will be the end of the world as we know it.

The physical world will not end simply because 2013 or 2014 or whatever year your beefloaf, maling, sardines, corned beef, instant pancit canton or bisan inyo pa nang driver's license. The physical world will just simply not end. So stop with the "..kay sa 2014 pa mo expire akong kuan.)
