really? Ive always thought that goldfish came from carps of the wild. they were selectively bred for centuries to became the modern goldfish.

i don't think so.. closely related lang.. its the other way around.. koi breeders are trying to emulate the goldfish..

goldfish has been around longer than koi. chinese were the first to domesticate the goldfish , japanese ( koi ) learned the art from the chinese.
